Sitting in Silence
Went to the Farmers' Market
and saw a friend and invited her home to eat
fsome soup that was waiting to be eaten.
The squash was mellow cooked iinterwhined with some
giving fowl with large bones. Before we ate, We sat for any hour
in the dark meditating to music and not saying a word.
Then I asked if she would honor me with wearing a sarong on her head,
We went out to the garden where I led her blindfolded to a dragon fruit
that I had not seen growing until this very morning.
How amazing how things of beauty are every where so close
if we stop to look
The seeds of the new moon had turned into
this luscious creation on this the near full moon.
We walked around the garden, I leading her much of the time closed eyed
to a shimmering oasis of scented peppermint, and we gazed and gazed.
Some leaves of a loquad caught my eye, and I cried to see the
startling statement of simple growth.
Shabbbat is a good thing. To go down, down, the steps,
carving a separation from the sadness and the the mean things
that people do to desicrate.
I am here sitting here typing and she in another part of the room
reading.
I will read her a poem by candlelight, something that caught by
eye today.
Another friend is playing celestial Yoga on his recording
in the background.
IT is good to pause.
I am saying goodbye to the week in a holy week.
I am so grateful for all you have given me.
Such a blessing to know you, and know you too
are honoring this special night.
Perhaps we can walk the garden together soon
to forget for a moment all the hurting things
and remember what is good now.
I would like that very much.
