The Word as Flesh
"In the Beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God."
A little Essene History.

as a big fish in the New Age pond
and yet, I have been a witness to a lot of Consciousness coming
together in this life. I have played my part in this
consciousness coming together, as much
as one person can do.
We live in different worlds at the same time.
The metaphor of the Tailor in Hassidic thought is
about this Hidden One who in his small shop
is sewing together all the worlds with his needle and thread.
My father was a "presser." He worked in the garment
district of downtown Los Angeles when I was growing up.
He would come home with these little piece of paper
that he stuffed in his pockets. He would sprawl them out
on his bed. Often he was a man on the run. I felt I did not see him
that much around the house, but he left lots of scratches
in me with the Words that he did say, expressed often
with Intense emotional and loud voice.
He was a big one for telling me what to do and what not to do.
He got under my skin with his Words.
"You dasn't do that!" was a common expression that I can
still hear inside me. "Dasn't" is a Powerful Word filled
with Shame. It is one of those Fundamentalist Ideas that
infers God is going to get you if you do that.
When the weather cools, I start wearing layers,
more and more of them, until by mid winter I have on my wool
hat, a sweater, some kind of red garment sweat shirt, and underneath
maybe some whites that are insulated to keep in the body heat.
White always makes me think of Essenes, the ancient
Tribe that some say was were the communalists of old
who raised up the Baby Jesus. How a kid raised Jewish in this
life came to have a personal relationship with Jesus is like
the Virginia Slim Cigarette Ad, that says to a woman,
"You've come a long way" or something like that.
Words are very powerful things.
They are like seeds. I have gotten myself into a lot of
trouble with Words i have said, and words I have heard
that I imagined had intentions behind them that were not intended.
There can be a lot of misunderstanding when we misinterpret
what we think we are hearing.
For most of us, there is an incredible break between the worlds
we live in. In the Essene World, the Mind is intended to be
a byproduct of the Soul functioning on the Earth plane. Most
of us do not sense that the Word is a Seed, or that the Word
is by it's nature will become Flesh.
I have a little story that goes with this.
When I was in my early 30's, I and my best buds and sisters
were filled with all kinds of inspirations that we received
from studying with a long-haired quite good looking young man who
often said he was the only person he knew who fell
asleep and got paid on the job.
His name was Kevin Ryerson. When I first met him he was a painter
in Phoenix, AZ. I saw great potential in his work. He was already
talking about blowing that town and moving West. When Ryerson
would open his mouth and go to sleep, different voices came out.
One we attributed to John, son of Zebedee. John, son of Zebedee,
is THE JOHN. The Son of Thunder, who was one of the favorite disciples the Man known as Jesus. John, Son of Zebedee is the one who is attributed
to have written The Revelation, the book where all the ideas of the Last Days, Armegeddon, and the 1000 years of Peace come from. According
to the Essene School of Thought Teachings, John speak from the perspective
of an Essene Master Teacher. There are few healing arts known today
that the Essenes did not practice.
John and I took on quite a personal relationship,
although he those days I only communicated with him, or so I imagined,
when Kevin went to sleep and opened his mouth.
John Spoiled me. There was no question about the Healing Arts
that we could not ask. There was no personal information about
past and potential for future activity that could not answer, and the information
was always life transforming.
Kevin would sit down, say the Lord's Prayer. He would "go out" into a dead
trance. Then a different intelligence came in. I would ask a series of questions. He would c**k his head, and say "Seeking Information..." Then he would start speaking non stop and give a discourse. Some of what he said
is like poetry. Some of it sounds like Homeopathic remedies. When he
finished speaking, he would ask for questions and then he would give
answers.
Most everything he says was recorded and still exists. There is a lot
of information that is transcribed as well. The audio cassettes still exist
in a corner of my room, in neat little marked tape cases in a fairly neat
tape holder. Some close friends have heard these tapes and felt
intensely frustration that this body of Essene Information
was not in the world. The originial agreement with Ryerson was
that 15% of the material could be quoted as is, interspersed with
my own teachings and interpretations.
There are thousands of snippets of the most enlightened consciousness
in these Essene School of Thought Audio Tapes. I am sad to say
they are still on Audio tapes and are now getting quite old. They really
need to be transferred at a minimum to CD's or DVD's so that
when my Limited Consciousness and the Consciousness of
Trance Mediums of the world who live by Copyrights pass from this world, maybe this body of Wisdom will see the Light of Day..
This is not to say that each of us do not contain what the tapes say,
or that others are not saying the same things...but the John of these
John Tapes really has it together.
Some times i feel bad that those tapes never came out into wide
circulation .Ryerson also believed they were not intended for that purpose.
I have to say that most of the things I write reflect some aspects of
seeds that were planted by those teachings inside me. Perhaps
more than planted the seeds, they watered seeds that were
already in me.
In passing, I also want to say that at great portion of this information
is identical to what came through the one who is known as the Sleeping
Prophet, Edgar Cayce, and that body of information can quite readily be
studied.
The Seed of the Enchanted Garden came from these tapes.
When I first started to connect these ideas and put them out in the world,
I had no idea where i was going with all the Enchanted Garden.
I did not know enough about the roots of the Enchanted Garden
as it appears in Judaism or Christianity, or for that matter any of the Indigenous teachings that speak of an Age of Peace coming to Earth that follows what is known as The Cleansing, a period of 30 years.
William Aura, his wife Lani, and I focalized the early workshops
The information was gathered for more than a year in San Diego.
William, now one of the leaders of the Smooth Jazz field, had a different name
them, and so did his wife. His current passion is helping the TIbetan
people and he offers exquisite arts of theirs for sale.
Ryerson in well known. He became famous so to speak after these
early early years. He now offers a private reading for something like
$350.00 a session. Back then it was $75.00. The public sessions
and private workshops were about $10.00 each.
Today, Ryerson has a whole different range of spirit teachers
who speak when he opens his mouth. John seldom speaks through him,
although I do believe Gabriel Cousens turns on that Channel a few
times a year at his Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center. in various Essene
workshops.
Back to the story of the Word and how it is Flesh.
Back in 1978, The Essene School of Thought was formed in San Diego.
William was a powerful inventive graphic artist in the days before
we had computer's to make this all easy. I was the wordsmith of some
very nifty flyers that drew together some of the leading Alternative Healers
of our City.
In the Winter and Spring of '79, there were a number of International
Festivals held at the Pasadena Convention Center. The Convention Center hall has a glass dome in the Center. This is where
Ryerson had his international debut. I played a role in lining up those
gigs. In one session, there was a photo taken of Ryerson. I was in it.
It was not a very becoming photo. It ended up in the Religion
Section of the San Diego Union under Events.
As many times happens, the lady who wrote the article seemed
very friendly and inviting. So here i was, this Jewish man of 30ish
who did not relate to being Jewish, and who knew less about
the John or the Jesus that a religion writer knew.
The question of John's authenticity was of course a big eyebrow raiser
in that story. The Killer Punch, was when she asked me about the Gospel
According to John, one of the books of the New Testament.
I had never read it.
It begins (in the Standard Edition of the Bible--my copy was a gift
from the Psychic Surgeon named Feliciano) with these words:
"In the Beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God."
later it says, "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.
full of Grace and Truth."
It goes on to say, "Glory as of the only Son from the Father."
For the Conventional Christians, these sentences are Fundamentally
about Jesus the Christ, as most people know Him.
In Essene Thought, This is a statement about the Word itself,
and how embedded in the Word is the Flesh of the Word.
The Word is carried through this world by the Soul, the Soul of you
and I, and as many quote in New Age Circles, we are Each the
Son and Daughter of God.
I want to make an apology on this the Last Day of the Holiday
of Succot--the Festival of Huts. There is a teaching
that on this day God determines if we will have
enough Rain during the next Growing Season, maybe too much
or too little.
Tonight is the Holiday called Simcha Torah...a gay time when
the Jewish people dance around and wave flags and eat apples and honey.
They start reading the beginning of the Torah Scroll again.
I want to Apologize sincerely for all the Words I have made Flesh in this
life through mis understanding or mis hearing.
I want to apologize for Forcing Creation that would naturally occur
and not occur with or without me.
I want to apologize for all the Words that i have spoken--too many of
them--and not having Fleshing them out.
I mean no harm, and sometimes I harm.
I ask forgiveness.
The Word is a Seed.
Inside each Seed Is a
Whole New World Waiting to Happen.
May good seeds come to flower
and good come from all that is planted
in flesh.
And so it is.
