I feel like making love
I feel like Making Love...

I feel like making love.
My body wants to make love.
There is this hip attached
to this woman,
this belly, this sweet belly, this lovely pretty
belly and these delicious round
hips chasing me these days.
Also attached to these hips is this delightful
sensitive spirit, this lovely expression of
God in body, and it shows up in all the strands
of her hair from the wavey top to other delights.
The hips, the sweet skin, the hair, the spirit
they belong to this
Soul Mate of mine
who most of the time
may not be into being having any of these parts touched.
Other times, she does feel like making love
connecting it all, and connecting it all with me.
Generally on very special occasions when the
energy of the human and the energy of special Holy Moments
marked by nature or God are closer. such is the Way of the Goddess.
She is the most perfect Lover I have ever known.
Making love with her can be a physical as well as a cosmic adventure.
I rarely say
"would you like to make love tonight?"
Making Love generally entails presenting myself
as a Elegant Enchanted Gardener would present himself
to a Queen in a court. She likes to feel the energy
up close. She knows if she likes it. She knows if
she wants to reveal herself, or stay buttoned up.
Sometimes she has little to say about it.
It is her body that takes the lead,
her lips, her voracious tongue that general
waits till she is a hungry woman wanting to be filled
that finally surrenders to the real ness that she wants
to be pleasured.
There are always those moments when she
says things like, "I forgot how good this feels."
I seldom forget.
Scene Change:
I am at the service with Reb Zalman.
IT is the second Day of the Ten Days of Awe.
They are fielding questions from the audience
and of course the questions are about sex.
Reb Deborah Orenstein is so cute...
She says...let me explain it this way.
Let me talk about "Co-habitation."
"Co-habitation"? She was going to talk about SEX.
Paraphrase: "This is why they have so many Jewish Laws...
in the Orthodox...such as you can't touch a woman
in public, or you can't be with a woman in a room
unless you have your relatives...
Because
this how the teaching goes...
"Jewish women are a bit sexier]she says.
(what would you expect from a woman who is Jewish to say?]
and Men are Wolves...
but Jewish men, they are a bit more wolfish...
and "so there are these rules..."
and then Reb Zalmin pops in...
"Yes all these questions are about Holiness and Sexuality...
Let me explain...
"There is the Sympathetic and the Parasympatic nervous system..."
When the Sympathetic nervous system is operating
it is fight or flight...
When you are in the sympathetic, sex is rape.
But in the Parasythetic, the body is in rest,
Shabbat, recreation, regeneration...ah sweet rest...
Sex goes with Shabbat. Sex goes with nurturing.
IT is the closest thing two people can do.
In the way of Judaism...Shabbat is all about
food, and sex, and pleasure...and the richness of being human...
and grounding spirituality in the body.
Even in the life of a Talmudic scholar on Shabbat
Holiness is grounded through the body on Shabbat, says the learned
erotic Reb Zalman who writes about Kabbabah in terms of sex in one
of his little books on the Sephirot.
Then Reb Zalman and Deborah are talking about the power
of exclusivity...
There is a tremendous Power when you let the energy
build up between two people until they finally express it
and how powerful that is...
In her Torah Reading, Reb Deborah is dropping in the
sweetest little adlibs...about the Richness of Shabbat...
IF my mind was wavering about wanting to be exclusive with
Soul Mate, I am feeling again committed hearing her.
In spite of all the discomfort that I cannot have what I would
like when I would like it, I just don't want to let myself
have sex with other women right now. It's just how I feel.
There are women I could be with these days that are within
driving distance of where I am now,
but that is not what I am wanting...
I mean I want to be with my Soul Mate.
This can be tension producing...
I am concerned about being with her now
and making her crazy if she is not in the mood
and it is all so nutso crazy when this is on my mind
and my energy wants to be get grounded...
and yes, I have something to give right now
as well as receive.
I mean how many cookies can I eat to NOT feel
what I really want in my mouth right now?
In this house of Sarina, they make love twice
a day....I mean it is in the atmosphere...
and there is another woman in the house who lives here
and is all juiced up about her new love who is out of town...
and it is one of those Holy Times of the Year...
Oh well, at least I said, how I am feeling.
Here is one of my favorite poems about Sex among Elephants
and how they deal with it:
The Elephant Is Slow to Mate
The elephant, the huge old beast,
is slow to mate;
he finds a female, they show no haste
they wait
for the sympathy in their vast shy hearts
