Nature is Messy...
Nature is messy
and constantly
shifting form,
this is a principle
of the Feng Shui of
Mother Earth.
Today I had a visit
from a neighborhood
permaculturist.
Date: 6/24/2005 10:17:54 PM ( 19 y ) ... viewed 1450 times I had a visit today from
RIck Ryan the neighborhood
permaculturist.
He is being asked to leave
his home where he has lived
for more than 40 years.
His mother died recently
and the house is being sold
so he is out of a home.
I have been at my computer
for a week or more.
It is facinating to walk outside
and see the change of seasons.
There is a greater need for watering.
It is time to pull the vetch all over the place
growing like vines, and give the undergrowth
some growing space.
All the places we racked less than a month ago
are covered with leaves.
It is as if nothing was done
or that when you live natural
there is constant movement
and flow.
I cannot believe the difference just a
week makes.
The Job's Tears that edge the sidewalk
are growing like skyscrapers.
I see more on the one bush that is getting
more sun and water.
Each plant asks different growing conditions
as each human.
Rick and I shared an bit of avocado
on a nori seaweed sheet.
Leaves were covering the area where weeks
ago we hosted the Elijah Minyan.
I brought this up.
Rick said, "Nature is messy."
I have one housemate who is asked
to sweep the leaves from the walkway.
He does it on occasion, but is frustrated
that all his good work seems to be for naught.
A few weeks go by, and here nature has asserted
herself again.
His solution would be to cut down all the trees.
I am taking a good look at her I want to leave with
this next growing season at this
Enchanted Garden Intentional Community.
As long as people are moving, I might as well
be proactive.
September is always a good time for a new crop
of housemates who might like to sweep
and pile the leaves under trees and see
receive the old leaves with grace.
Nature is messy,
and so I might as well surrender
what what is being asked.
