Incompetent people think they know more than they really do, and they tend to be more boastful about it - but mot me I just learn to check and verify the systems!
Date: 3/2/2022 3:53:43 PM ( 32 mon ) ... viewed 885 times In their 1999 paper, published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, David Dunning and Justin Kruger put data to what has been known by philosophers since Socrates, who supposedly said something along the lines of “the only true wisdom is knowing you know nothing.” Charles Darwin followed that up in 1871 with “ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge.”
Put simply, incompetent people think they know more than they really do, and they tend to be more boastful about it.
To test Darwin’s theory, the researchers quizzed people on several topics, such as grammar, logical reasoning and humor. After each test, they asked the participants how they thought they did. Specifically, participants were asked how many of the other quiz-takers they beat.
Dunning was shocked by the results, even though it confirmed his hypothesis.
Time after time, no matter the subject, the people who did poorly on the tests ranked their competence much higher. On average, test takers who scored as low as the 10th percentile ranked themselves near the 70th percentile. Those least likely to know what they were talking about believed they knew as much as the experts.

There is not much truth where much of the modern world spins their effort and much of their time or talent! They seem to be in a Big Hurry to become known as the next Super Brian!
But No! The real truth is right there before your eyes and you have to learn be patient seeking how to segregate it from the Mass Of Data the world misuses!
This has been pat of the path I have used to guide my life! Seeking to find and follow the absolute truth! The truth is there yet being able to actually find, isolate and then learn how to use it becomes the completion point of your actions!
During any search for the Absloute, it becomes obvious that being able to recognize it, is the key!

I have seen many times that when we ran into very difficult problems!
This is where using your knowledge to find a solution to reveal the answers!
I have worked on Military Weapons systems, In Nuclear Power plants in several parts of the world, then have helped in still and commission almost every type plant in the world!
Have worked on offshore Drilling Rigs, In various types of Mines, Probability most every type plant or system which uses Large Industrial Computers.
I have seen some times where, we dive into the entire system situation to find the actual problem! Often the answer tends to be simple; often in or part of an over looked area!
Check and evaluate the entire problem area to isolate the true answer(s). Some times it was simple loos, or some in properly configured device!
Much time was spent looking for some bazaar difficult new discovery! But alas it has been some over looked troubleshooting!
