This has been an interesting month.
I started a program called "Shadow".
It is a program that deals with the shadow self
and all that goes with it,
designed to start with prompts and writing the answers to the prompts.
I read over the prompts, then ( as you can probably guess...)
decided to make each response into a collage instead of writing down my responses.
I really didn't know what a big assignment I had given myself.
Right now I have worked on this project every day for 30 days
and I'm not anywhere near done yet!
(Not much else has gotten done because of this project.)
I did manage to write three poems:
IS YESTERDAY OVER YET?
Is yesterday over yet?
Marching on two left feet
over and over
the days are the same
How can we stop the routine?
The owl hoots,
crying in the night,
seeing in the darkness,
looking for the unknown
searching for the present moment
pretending to be happy
pretending with smiling faces
as the past continues in cycles
as infinitum.
Is the yesterday over yet?
BREATH
It is with the simple breath
we live.
Breathe in, breathe out
seems such a simple thing.
Breathing, I feel the ancient worlds move.
I feel the lands emerge and dissolve
as the breath goes in and out.
Yet I trust that each breath will be followed by another !
No matter what the body is doing,
running, walking, playing, resting...
just breathe.
Each breath is connected to the next.
Trust
Trusting that you continue on,
Trusting the breath.
THOUGHTS
Our thoughts create our lives
they whirl around us
ticking, ticking.
Seemingly, going endlessly.
Going nowhere, going everywhere...
Yet in that movement,
a dominant thought may show up,
or may flutter away,
something needs to be done,
or maybe what to do next.
Just watching those thoughts pass by,
After all they are just thoughts
