The key to being successful on social media is to have a good, solid plan, and to consistently follow, measure the results, and alter as needed. Managing your accounts can be buy followers on instagram time-consuming, and it's time you could be spending working on your business. If you can use tools to make your strategy easier, take advantage!

So what should you include in your plan? There are many templates available for your use and can help to get your on track and keep you organized. Use a content schedule and remember to download the social media strategy overview on my website to get started and follow these tips below.

1. Set clear goals and objectives

Why do you want to join a certain platform? Is it just because it's the new thing, or does it align with your company mission, vision, and brand? Is it to provide customer support? To improve sales?

There are different reasons to use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest, Instagram, etc. so the first thing you need to do is to decide what role you want social media to play in your organization once you know why you want to use social media, set clear, measurable goals.

2. Conduct an audit

If you or someone in your company already started creating profiles for your company, you need to know on which platforms they are, if they are completed correctly and completely, and if those profiles still integrate well with the mission and goals of your business.

3. Create or improve your profiles

Once your initial audit is complete, you might determine that you need to create a new profile on a platform that aligns with your company, and that could bring value to your customer service.

4. Develop your content strategy

A great way to cut down on the time you spend on social media is to use a management tool like Hootsuite or Buffer. Even if you are using these tools, you need to have a content strategy and customize your messages on different platforms.

5. Use analytics to track, measure and alter your strategy

Track the effectiveness of your SM efforts and measure the results, so you know which ones work and which do not. Alter your strategy as needed to increase the engagement and return on investment of your efforts.
