Well, if it ain't one thing, it's another.

Infection from tooth returns due to lack of stomach acid and enzymes. Hypothyroidism seems to be a major health issue.

So about 10 months after having my infected tooth and root canal removed another health issue showed up. Apparently I disregarded my Naturopath's advice to take digestive enzymes and HCL with pepsin because of low stomach acid. Low stomach acid comes from having hypothyroidism. So when the infected tooth was removed, the drainage from the infection went into my stomach and the barrier that stomach acid creates to bacteria, parasites, etc was not in place. Living in my gut and still in my jaw the infection bloomed in my lymph nodes under my jaw. A swollen lymph node led me to a western doctor who prescribed antibiotics. I took a 10 day course of Augmentin. What a MISTAKE. The antibiotics killed a lot of my good bugs in my gut and I developed breath that smelled truly terrible. 6 weeks later I suffered a high fever for three days. That fever led to a depletion of some essential nutrient, the onset of gastritis and a downward spiral that scared the hell out of me. After about 3 weeks I wanted to just stay in bed, with absolutely no energy and a mind that could not generate any ideas and was getting confused.My best semi educated guess is that the fever depleted Thiamin which is B1 and a lack of protein in my blood did not allow for the right reactions to happen to replace it.
A trip to my holistic dentist resulted in ozone injections in my mouth and a bottle of OZOVITA, capsules that contain olive oil and ozone. I was instructed to take 6 capsules a day. As I am sensitive, I started out with one and worked up to 5 a day. Best to take them before bedtime with some food as they are difficult to tolerate.
A trip to a new Naturopath ( my old one retired!!) led me to IV infusions of vitamins, minerals and amino acids. After 2 IV's my brain woke up!! My energy returned and I started doing research into what the hell had happened. Looking at blood tests I realized that for 5 years I have tested with abnormally low protein in the blood. A result of mal-absorption from a leaky gut, gastritis and lack of acid and enzymes in my stomach to properly digest my food. OR is it still the parasites?? I have not done a cleanse in almost 18 months. AT this point I don't have the answer.
The summer solstice is about to occur in about 6 weeks. Time to prep for another major cleanse. We shall see.
Meanwhile, I am continuing the IV's every 2 weeks and eating as much protein as I can stand. In another few days I will go back on the Ozovita capsules to make sure that the infection in my gut is gone. I am also doing an elimination diet and taking a lot of supplements for gastric, adrenal and thyroid health. I also quit drinking the municipal water as Isabella Wentz writes in her "Hashimoto's Protocol" book that the fluoride in the water negates the thyroid meds. Lovely to be poisoned by the town water supply!! I also have an appointment with a thyroid specialist.
I will update after that cleanse with the solstice.
