Hundreds of #PetCelebritySquash from our Adopt-A-Squash project brought joy to the many school kids bused in to the three day event. One mom said her son could not sleep the night before; he was looking forward to adopting his new pet.
Our exhibit—the centerpiece being my 68 VW van (The Enchanted Garden Mobile's Journey To Win Back Our Sacred Seeds) is a favorite for many kids who get to take home an heirloom squash grown specifically for the show.
The EG Mobile successfully made it to Santa Rosa from San Diego for the seventh time to complete her commitment. The day following she went in for a tuneup and she expressed a need for a new engine.
We shipped her home and have been in a rental since from Enterprise.
For those following our journey, March 29, the EG Mobile was totaled in an accident when I was rear ended.
Accident Pros San Diego and friend Steven Moran, working with my mechanic Mike Boone, are helping to restore the “little engine that could” once again to a pristine state. She needs a new engine about every five years at a cost of about $5000.00. State Farm paid out $10,000 for the bodywork, and she received a fresh sparkling paint job as well.
Much thanks to my generous sponsors, friends, and #EnchantedGardenClub members for pitching to help with expenses. She is definitely a vehicle keeping the Summer of Love alive, as we rekindle a love for nature through our Campaigns.
We anticipate her being back on the road between October 25-31, 2018, and may be ready for a public appearance at the 2018 Pacific Symposium - 30th Anniversary!
