The junk earrings remind me of the recent lunar eclipses we had in January and July 2018.
Tea Tag Eco Art by mayah(c)2018 5" x 7" "Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished--Lao Tzu"; all reused materials: cardboard backing, magazine photo*; junk mail advertisement photo; tea tag; hand embroidery
Tea Tag Eco Art by mayah(c)2018 14" x 14" "One Touch of Nature makes the whole world kin--William Shakespeare": all reused materials: blue background cardboard; brown scrap Rhimax 100% recycled paper product; magazine photo*; junk mail advertisement photos; tea tag; hand embroidery; thrift store frame and mat.
Usually, I make my art and then try and find a frame to fit; this time, I found this great frame and mat from a thrift store, and made the art to fit it. The embroidery floss color coordinates with the orange line on the mat. After all of these years, I found out it's easier to make the art to fit the frame than the other way around! ;-)
