Q: What is an #NGB?
A: An #NGB is a #NewGoddessOnTheBlock
THIS IS THE STORY
THE ORIGINS OF THE GODDESS PRAYER
Somewhere in the 80s I had a really great relationship with one of my all-time favorite partners.
We were on stage together at different times. She would sing. I would read poetry. The relationship was in many ways good for both of our health.
Her musicianship was professional. She knew how to read the notes.
She would come with me to conferences. She was one of the greatest support team members I've ever had in this lifetime, a true partner both in romance and creativity.
We "broke up" twice, to use the vernacular of the old-school,
Both times, I wrote books.
The second book was called "Confessions of an Essene Visionary,"
I worked on it a whole year and writing the book helped me get over her.
Some of the poems, and documents in that book, deserve to be preserved into posterity.
Among the documents was "The Official earthquake cancellation notice," and "A 12 step program for Recovering Prophets."
The book also included a poem called #MyGoddessPrayerForYou.
That poem that I am re-releasing now as part of the #LessonsLearnedFromTheDivineFeminine, was once noted by one of my favorite ceremony partners, as one of my greatest works. He said that if I never wrote anything else and just concentrated on that one poem, I would have done enough to transform humanity.
Brad Steiger. a popular metaphysical writer of the 80s, gave the book high praise. As most of my books, I went on to continue living and writing more creations. Much of what I wrote was always ahead of its time, so to speak, and what I had written was never picked up by publishers, I just went onto the next writing and instigating movements in consciousness through being well placed in many events.
THE GODDESS PRAYER WAS IN THE CLOSING CEREMONY OF THE Goddess Fest Pre-Party at Seaside Bazaar
Little sections from
#MyGoddessPrayerForYou
were included in the closing ceremony at the Goddess Fest Pre-Party at Seaside Bazaar.
Curiously, One of the other local readings of the poem was included in an event that Rae Irelan
did at Trilogy Sanctuary sometime in 2016.
Rae's soul may be implicated in the coming out of #MyGoddessPrayerForYou.
This poem, being written by a man, gives hope to women. Men can hear and reflect back ideas held close to the heart of Woman.
The poem was inspired through deep listening to my former lover. I've always continued to love my lovers, even when they were no longer my lovers.
One of my greatest teachings, #LessonsLearnedFromTheDivineFeminine is that former lovers make the best of friends.
One day, after we had become friends again, she was taking time to tell me about her current lover, and some of the pros and cons. I listened intently. #MyGoddessPrayerForYou came out of that listening.
During the late 80s, around the time of the harmonic convergence, my decades long friend Amatra Barbara May used the poem in woman's circle at a place called Madre Grande Monastery, a mountain retreat where for many years our community in San Diego with meet for equinoxes and solstices.
GETTING AND GIVING VALUE FIR WHAT WE BRING TO THE MARKETPLACE
Back in my generation, a three-day gathering, by the way, had a price tag ticket including meals, at something like $50.00. No one was excluded,
They were always tons of volunteer opportunities.
One of the qualities of the #NGB's is that they are carving out new careers as modern day Goddesses and Shamen , so to speak. This makes total sense to me to see price tags attached to their gatherings that place high value on the exchange.
I believe this is the natural evolution, and is a definite progression. We've come a long way Baby.
There was a time when Elders of my generation considered it improper to charge for spiritual work. Over the decades this has radically shifted
The question is, how will we ever find employment for our talents unless we place value on the gifts we are bringing, even though there's truly little infrastructure in place now about how the youngsters are trained by the elders.
Some of what I call the NGBs are bringing their gifts forward from past life incarnations and basically need to be given the benefit of the doubt for bringing forth new approaches to enter the marketplace. They are a new generation. I personally am learning a lot from them as well as offering my insights.
I find many things making a buck today have little inherent value. Many fast foods as an example, as reflected in the Carl's Jr. sign above the seaside Bizaar, instigated in me A replacement sign that said,"Goddess Fest" rather than "Carl's Jr."
I expressed this idea number of times
at the #goddessfest and others there had fun with the idea as well.
Our true economy it's totally upside down and the youth will straightness this out.
MY HEALING AT GODDESD FEST
It's always healing for me-- at a time of little connection between elders and youth--when I feel what I have to say has been heard. I did feel heard.
Part of the healing I received at the recent Goddess Fest is that the #NGB's can read energy.
MORE TO SAY
We have much healing to do between the feminine the masculine today, and the integration of both inside ourselves. In some sense, we are moving into a genderless world, as well as the world that excitingly appreciates and is playing with the differences that men and women bring to the table. We're living in the world among the young at heart where many labels are blurring, especially in the confusing world of sexual identity and roles.
It's fun to watch the wobble and all the feelings that come up between the women and men of different generations. Will the real Goddess, please stand up may be another area of identity crisis, even between 20 and 30-year-olds. More to say and clarify.
Truly, if you get what I'm saying, this iHenry David Thoreau including in our emerging Circles.
One of my favorite quotes is from
Henry David Thoreau. It
is something like, "oh what a miracle to see through each others eyes for an instant."
In many ways, the Goddess Fest is breaking new ground, as it extends consciousness into new territory.
It was exciting to see this breakthrough energy at The seaside bazaar, happening right under the Carl's Jr. sign!
I know some of the ideas I am expressing here need clarification.
This post is a beginning.
