When all else fails, many will have seen the Lord God through the prism of their tears; who never saw Him in the sunlight of good times. You can tell by a person's prayers whether they have shed few or many tears. Two people may be equality sincere in their prayers, yet one will have learned a different dependence upon God. Some have been raised in the school of prayers. You can tell by cadence and phraseology of their devotions.
Before a person has had many troubles, their prayers will be poetic and stereotyped.
But then listen to a person after they have been through the furnace of affliction and have been bathed in the fountain of tears. Then listen to their prayers when they have been sprayed with the heaven-sent dew of weeping. Gone are most of the poesy, as the prayer is now laying hold of God.
This is the doorway to Glory!
Perhaps it is not now as beautifully sounding, as before, but now it has the power to approach God. Prayer is not telling God how much you have found out about Him, rather it is a consciousness that He already knows all about you! We must learn that we can not hide anything from God! Another reason for our tears is that it teaches us the much needed grace of symphony. In order to find comfort and sympathy we must first have been baptized in the fountain of tears. Humility is a great teacher!
To those who have never felt the sorrow over the loss of a loved one, these words should call you to take your shoes off, because now the place you stand is Holy Ground! If you have never experienced this then these words will mean little to you; for sympathy is born in travail and tears!
Examples of tears in action!
Why does a child when they have a problem or hurt go to the one who understands?
Why does a child go to a Mother for special love and concern?
Because Mother knows better than others how to provide comfort and care in times of troubles.
If the child just wants a toy or to just go frolic and play on some adventure they will go to father. Why?
A father represents certain teachings and physical powers that mothers do not -
but often he does not have the experience of tears to lead him.
Then think of the tears shed for others upon this earth over the eons of time!
Consider the tears of the Lord Jesus; first as a child, then upon his mission, such as at the grave of Lazarus, later He wept over Jerusalem - not even counting all the tears of his mother Mary ...
Because Mother knows better than father - she has shed more tears. Women tend to pray better than men because they have known more trouble. They have known the child since it was in the womb and have lived in close contact with the child in nurturing and through loving support. This is just part of the trail of tears that links us to many of the more important aspects of life!
Yet, in Heaven all tears will be wiped away! What a glorious day!
Yet when God dries those tears away will be the revelation to us of the Fruits of Our Tears. He will then reveal that our tears were not in vain. He will show us that all of them were recorded and every one remembered.
One day God will open the Vail and show that Not One Single Thing which he sent upon us - over which we shed tears was without a purpose.
Yet we shall then see what we know now by faith, namely, " that all things work to together for good to them that love God."
