I really don't know what more I could've done to get through. Today I and my boyfriend decided to do something nice together, so I juiced the same kind of a batch as yesterday (three cucumbers, six tomatoes, a small bit of ginger and four apples all in separate containers) and took them with us to an olden-time fair in the country not too far away. The weather was lovely, we spent a good couple of hours there, and I didn't feel hungry or too weak at all. Instead I was perfectly capable of resisting the smells of meats being cooked in the old-fashioned way, my juices were really enough. I did notice, though, that I've had enough of tomato juice already - somehow I just totally lost appetite for it all of a sudden. Another thing I marked was that to help with cravings I like to take a whiff of the food in question - such as a sandwich or the said barbecue - it actually makes me feel like I'm somehow "allowed" to be around such foods and enjoy their aroma with my heightened sense of smell without the need to consume them. Maybe this is not the way it works for everyone, just something I find useful in my fasting. Now my boyfriend automatically brings whatever he's eating next to me so I can smell - it's actually quite adorable. He's been eating lighter too, veggie soup and fish soup, so I feel staying at his place for a while is absolutely not a distraction, only getting to write this blog and performing the enemas are a bit more of a fuss than at home.
On the way back from the event we went shopping for some nourishment for me, and decided to make said veggie soup so that I could have the broth and my boyfriend would then add the oil, spices and whatever he wanted in the rest of it. That was the dinner plan, so meanwhile I had some young coconut water from a can. From what I could see there was nothing added and the product wasn't processed, so this it really the best one can do in regards with young coconuts in Finland. We might be able to find the fresh stuff in an Asian store somewhere, but it's really under question whether the product is actually fresh then. So this was my first time tasting young coconut water, and I was very pleased with the refreshing, energizing effect - and it tasted just like milk with corn flakes! Does anyone else agree?
If I remember correctly the second fasting day held no special surprises. I had a nap when we got back from shopping, meanwhile the broth was ready. Sure, I craved a bit of salt in it, but it was really much more flavorsome with all those different vegetables and herbs we used than any store-bought stock cube could have ever been. I also had some cold-pressed cranberry juice diluted, and that was probably all I consumed that day. Somehow I've been drinking relatively small amounts of liquids yet there hasn't been a moment of hunger, not even a tiny bit. A few very quick cravings is all I've experienced so far, and they have been so easy to pass that I can't help but be amazed. I don't know how it really correlates having had such terrible detox symptoms yet not experiencing hunger or cravings, so maybe I can't rule out a fast-induced migraine attack just yet.
Nevertheless things have gone smoothly, and I was able to hold in about 3,25 liters of water during the day's enema. We also had a lovely sauna in the evening - it's nice and hot and steamy unlike the steam saunas abroad, it's very cleansing and effective here where sauna was invented. A little bit of cooling off in the back yard in the middle, and then some more warmth. I incorporated a white clay face mask and some skin brushing into the session to make the most out of avoiding any further detox symptoms. I even tried an "egg cleansing" as I had read about it somewhere, but when investigating the yoke afterwards absolutely no abnormalities could be seen. So personally I didn't gain any interest in further performing such rituals. After all that gentle cleansing I was feeling nice and relaxed, which was the main purpose. All is well.
