Day 1, What I do already and what I am adding
First Day
Date: 2/8/2015 11:58:39 AM ( 9 y ) ... viewed 1238 times With these random outbreaks of IC and digestive bloating that made me feel like I have a basketball in my stomach, I am starting a regiment based on things that work for me so far, and from other blogs and articles I read. I won't be writing the symptoms/cures for IC (what to eat or not to eat), you can look that up. This is what I have found so far. This will be the longest blog entry so I can check up to myself so far...
WATER> Lots of it. At least an 8oz glass everytime you pee. Pee as soon as you feel like peeing. Don't hold it.
BEDTIME> I begin with a glass of activated charcoal water before bed. I am on my 3 day of this. I will be doing 7-10. This is detoxing effect on my bladder and gut, and I read in Charcoal Remedies book about cures of IC with activated charcoal. I put a teaspoon in water, mix well, and drink. Careful not to inhale it. some of it may not mix well, and if you take a breath as you go to drink it, you may inhale it. I know. I did this once and was choking with dry throat for hours...I do this at night 2 hours after I have taken any other supplements. AC (activated charcoal) will collect them along with other stuff and you will pee them out instead of using them in your body. Give your body a chance to absorb them first. Drink lots of water with it or you can get constipated.
Massive Pain from IC gone in a couple hours after taking IC. Last couple days I feel bladder pressure, but no pain. Continuing AC. Peeing a lot, but also drinking a lot.
MORNING> Big glass of water. I can drink coffee if I keep it 1/2 strength, and add a chicory type coffee substitute with it. Chicory is alkaline, so I suspect it balances it...Was super easy transaction, because it tastes really good, more like a stout coffee with an earthy flavor. Yum. My goal is not to give up my last vice...I do drink a big glass of water after each cup. I have two cups usually.
WORKOUT: 20 minutes, light cardio (pulse 148ish). Treadmill (or other cardio machine), and my double end punching bag (highly recommended and only $22 on Amazon!)-the best upper body and back workout...and fun (especially if you watch some youtubes for punching pointers and get good at it). Here is a link for it on Amazon. Just don't let your husband think it's fun to hit it like a badass boxer. He will break it... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0032VD4PM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Yoga stretches afterwards and few calming Tai Chi moves I learned on youtube to end of workout in a calm state. I am not a huge fan of Yoga in general, but I do love yoga stretching. Yoga is just toooooo slow of a workout for me. I want to feel like I am saving the world when I work out...lol
BREAKFAST> Smoothie and sometimes an egg. I am thinking this last outbreak 2 days ago was carrot juice for breakfast. I am going back to a kale, yogurt, apple, ginger, banana smoothies in the morning. They were great and didn't produce any symptoms. If I am really hungry or after a workout and want protein, I put more yogurt in my smoothie and sometimes eat an egg. Yogurt does not bother me and the probiotics seem to like me. I may try adding a few carrots because I do what that betacarrotine. Get it. Carrot-ine...
SNACKS> No sugar or fruit snacks usually. Fruit mean sugar means bothers my bladder. My body just loves my granola mix. Not a lot of granola, but lots of coconut shreds, cashews, almonds, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds. I go to the bulk section and buy a gallon of it. TV and Computer snacking...
LUNCH is more snackables than anything.
or... Kavli Crispy thins cracker with roast beef and lacey swiss. Also good protein.
or... hard-boiled egg if I haven't had an egg today.
or... cauliflower tortillas I make. Yum. My bod just doesn't like gluten. I feel soooo much better avoiding it.

DRINKS: I like ginger/stinging nettle tea most of the time (hot or cold). Anti inflammatory. No lemon. Sometimes with honey. I will occasionally have a wine or whiskey, which won't bother me if I drink a big glass of water before/after. Otherwise, it greatly irritated my bladder. Another vice I partake on occasionally.
EVENING: Tonight, cauliflower bread, sweet potatoes and venision...
