Thinking of taking both meds once a week
ICU's Strongyloides Protocol
Date: 3/10/2014 9:20:38 AM ( 10 y ) ... viewed 8867 times Parasite symptoms are coming back, especially on my right side. My right eye is watering and I woke up with pain in my shoulder, neck and underarm lymph nodes, and a slight headache on my right temple.
I've read up on Albendazole a lot in the last few days, and it seems that the normal dosage is either 400mg for two days, then a break for two weeks, or 600mg or 800mg one time only. Since the side effects usually start to show themselves on day two, I'm thinking about taking 600mg of ABZ with the Iver once a week.
There was a study I read (sorry, don't have the link) that said that a one-time dose of 600mg of ABZ was more effective than a one-time dose of 800mg for strongyloides, so I'm thinking that to keep killing them while avoiding the side-effects, this may be the way to go.
I just don't want them to keep multiplying, and there is nothing else systemic that kills the cysts, which I probably have a ton of, so this is what I will do. I'll take it on Saturdays, because Sunday is my day off, in case of bad side effects.
I also am going to move this blog to Blogger sometime in the few weeks. When I do, all the posts will be there, plus I will leave the old ones here, so nobody will miss anything. It's just time consuming to move them one-by-one, so I can't do it overnight.
