Copied from Diabetes Type II Alternatives Forum Controling Type 2 diabetes (diabetes melitus) 10/15/2004 Using some of CureZones suggestions and from reading various books and publications, I have, for the past 2 years, managed to control my blood sugar level without the use of drugs. It remains between 85ml to 115 ml. I am a male, 78 years young, 5’ 4 1/2” short, and 134 lbs light. About 3 years ago I was hospitalized for difficulty in breathing. The emergency doctor determined that I had a mild heart attack. With more tests, she also found that I had diabetes. After a 3 days stay in the hospital I left with my blood pressure of 170 over 85 and my blood sugar was in the 180-ml range. Both these readings are high and. I was given medication to control these conditions. After several months, I went to another MD. He felt that both my blood pressure 180/90 and my blood sugar 180-ml were very high and put me on different medications. Bad reactions from these drugs made me quit. Another set of drugs were prescribed but then neither my blood pressure nor my blood sugar dropped very much. About that time, I started reading books on diabetes and alternative medicine, I also went on the web and checked many different sites for complimentary medicine. I found one that really attracted me. CureZone. Between books and CureZone, I experimented with bowel cleansing, juice fasting, change of life style and various supplements. After many months of trial and error I finally found a life style with supplements that controls both my blood pressure and blood sugar. Here is what I do: I check my blood sugar, my blood pressure and my pulse rate every morning and keep a record of it on my computer. I used to take my blood sugar level 3 times daily but since I feel that I have fairly well controlled my blood sugar level I do it only once a day. I cut out most the white flour, potatoes, pasta made from white flour, white rice, etc. I found that these carbohydrates elevate my blood sugar a lot more than simple sugars. I replaced these starches with freshly cooked veggetables. So instead of eating one veggie with my meals I eat two or three. I still use a small amount of white and brown sugar. My sweetner of choice is stevia. I also cut down my use of salt. I replaced my morning cup of coffee with a glass of hot water with the juice of half a fresh lemon. Every morning I eat a bowl of old fashion oat meal (the slow cooking kind) with 1 to 2 tablespoons of freshly ground golden flax seed and sweetened with stevia. I also learned to eat a snack between meals. So basically I have five smaller meals a day instead of the three meals. I suffer from gastroparesis. I take every morning the following supplements: Diabetic multi vitamins, Eyebright, garlic, bitter melon, fenugreek, alfalfa, Primrose oil, cayenne; Gymnema Sylvestre, Hawthorn, chromium, Golden seal, B50 vitamins (B complex), aspirin, DMAE, Calcium. Every evening I take Diabetic multi vitamins, Eyebright, garlic, bitter melon, fenugreek, alfalfa, Primrose oil, Gymnema Sylvestre, Hawthorn, B50 vitamins (B complex). Every day I walk my dogs for 40 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes in the afternoon. Plus I go for powerwalks to test my endurance every few days. Having regular bowl movements, 2 to 3 times every day is very important. If I get constipated my blood pressure and my blood sugar.level go up instanly So I watch myself very carefully. Once a week I go on a 1 day juice fast. Before going on a fast, I believe that that it is necessay to cleanse your digestive system. Sunday night I take 2 capsules of Cascara Segrada. On Monday I skip all meals after mid-day. If I am on a bowel cleanse, I drink a PB&C (Phsyllium, Bentonite & Chlorophyl) shake every 2 hours after the mid-day meal (lunch ?).until 6:00 PM. I also drink a glass of water every hour and at least 4 glasses of freshly made vegetable juice. That evening I take a cleansing enema..
On Tuesday, I don’t eat before noon. Again if I am on a bowel cleanse, I drink a PB&C shake every 2 hours until noon. I break the fast early in the afternoon with a small meal of white chicken meat and a lot of fresh vegies. That evening, if I don’t have a bowl movement, I take an enema.

Here’s what I do presently: (underlined) On Sunday night I take 1 capsule of Cascara Segrada. On Monday morning I take a soapsuds enema to empty out my bowels completely then follow this with a 2 quarts garlic enema. I try to retain this for 15 minutes.
After evacuating and waiting for an hour or more, I take a 1 quart retention coffee enema (20 minutes retention). If this coffee evacuates completely then I finish the day by drinking some potassium broth. If I don’t evacuate completely then I take a small salt/soda enema to clean out the coffee. After which I drink my potassium broth. Notice I have skipped the PB&C shake.
About 8 times a year I go on a 3 day to 5 day juice fast. Fasting for a diabetic can be very dangerous so I watch myself very carefully. I try to keep my blood sugar between 85 and 110 mg/ml and my blood pressure below 130 mm. I have pretty good success with controlling my blood sugar but less so with my blood pressure. I will be happy to answer any questions. Propaul
