Water Fasting Day #7

Water Fast Day 7

Today is Day #7 of my water fast. I wish I had found this site sooner to chronicle my first 6 days, but I did that on Tumblr. I'll try to cut and past those posts here.

Feeling a little tired today. Slept quite a bit this weekend. Hunger pangs stopped around Day #4. Headaches (minor) stopped around Day #3. I don't feel hungry at all. I continue to to drink lots of water.

My starting weight was 143.8. I am now 135.6.

I've noticed one of the many benefits of water fasting is that it gets rid of my lower back pain. Even when I purposely arch my back, there is no pain there whatsoever. My skin remains clear, and hair looks healthier.

My tongue is still coated, and body odor remains a prolbem.

I'm going to take it easy today.

Day #6 07/06/2013 11:30am
Feeling tired, and a wee less sad. Weight is 135.8. I have no hunger pangs as of yet. I’m resting and taking it easy today and tomorrow, since it’s the weekend. I might just take a nap. Headaches are gone. No more body aches. A little more energized. Thinking is clearer. Senses are stronger. White coating on my tongue is still gross, even though I brush it a lot. I just had a diarrhea BM, probably from using NyQuil to get to sleep again. I know that goes against detoxing, but sleep is not fan for water detoxers. I feel peaceful this morning. Birds are chirping, sea gulls are squaking. I feel peace within myself, where yesterday was quite different. This makes me wonder what roles hormones play in fasting, so I think I’ll go do do some reading about that. Yesterday I mentioned my social withdrawal. When I woke up earlier today, The first thought I had was to call my friend to see if she would like to see fireworks. But I didn’t do it. Yeah, I i know. That’s so dumb. I just can’t reach out to anyone for anything.

Day #5 07/05/13 6:00pm
Sad day. Tired when I got up and tired at work. I don’t have a physically demanding job, but have to think a lot. Drank a lot of water as usual. Down to 138.8. Last night I couldn’t sleep so took some NyQuil. I cried myself to sleep thinking of past and current losses. The next morning I had what may be my last BM, as I believe the liquid Nyquil flushed whatever stool was left in me, out of me. Probably TMI, but the stool looked like soft light mud. No stomach pain. Just a couple of cravings for food tonight. No hunger pangs at all. I’m conflicted about why I’m doing this. Sure, I want to lose weight. A lot of it. I want to weigh 115 and then do another fast to get me to the 100 mark. I want to be better at something than most people are. I want to stave off a Crohn’s flare. This worked once before.

Water Fast, Day #4 07/04/2103
This is my second long water fast. I did a 17 day water fast a few months ago, lost 20 pounds, and kept all of it off. I started that fast when I saw the scale tip 160! I’m 5’ 5" and have always been thin, until 2009, when I noticed the weight creeping up on me due to poor eating habits and lack of exercise, and quite frankly, extreme laziness. This fast was amazing. I felt wonderful - full of energy. I have Crohn’s disease and started it initially to stave off a seasonal flare up that usually puts me in the hospital for an extended period of time once or twice per year (usually beginning of Fall and Spring). It worked. Not only did I not get sick, but previous back pain was gone. My skin cleared up, and my hair was shiny. Most importantly, my mood improved.

Today I’m on Day #4 of my current water fast. Starting weight was 143.8lbs. Today I am at 141.0 lbs. To sum up, Day #1 was fine, as I’ve often skipped a day without eating anything anyway. I had hunger pangs at night, but soldiered through them. Day #2 was pretty much the same. I had some body aches and pains on Day #3 (at night) as well as a lingering headache, but not a severe one. Today I’m a bit tired, slept late (which for me is any time past 7:00). I plan to take a nice nap later since I have the day off and know it’s important to rest. I’m not feeling hunger pangs, but the past few days they’ve surfaced at night. I’ve always been a big fan of water, and I plan on drinking as much as I need. Will post recent pics so I can see progress in pics. I wish I did this the first go around!
