More Truth ! Part 3
** There is some truth in every lie; But all the lies will never tell the whole truth! **

Truth:
Truth is most often used to mean in accord with fact or reality, or fidelity to an original or to a standard or ideal.
The opposite of truth is falsehood, which, correspondingly, can also take on a logical, factual, or ethical meaning. The concept of truth is discussed and debated in several contexts, including philosophy and religion. Many human activities depend upon the concept, which is assumed rather than a subject of discussion, including science, law, and everyday life.
Various theories and views of truth continue to be debated among scholars and philosophers. Language and words are a means by which humans convey information to one another and the method used to recognize a "truth" is termed a criterion of truth.
There are differing claims on such questions as what constitutes truth: what things are truthbearers capable of being true or false; how to define and identify truth; the roles that revealed and acquired knowledge play; and whether truth is subjective or objective, relative or absolute.
Many religions consider perfect knowledge of all truth about all things (omniscience) to be an attribute of a divine or supernatural being.
**
Yet most people do not or would not recognize the truth when it comes...
As Jack Nickolson {whom I had lunch with} said in a " Few Good Men " when questioned about the truth!
" A Few Good Men (1992)
You Can't Handle the Truth! "
---
Most of our problem is that we do not understand what the truth is or how to respect or use it!
Because it is and when you come to realize that it will do things to change your life!

The Truth Will Set You Free

“In war, truth is the first casualty”. - Aeschylus (Greek tragic dramatist 525 - 456 B.C.)
“In times of universal deceit, telling the truth will be a revolutionary act.” - George Orwell
BTW: it appears this is where we are now!
“We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of the siren, til she transforms us into beasts.”—Patrick Henry
“If you tell a big enough lie, and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.”
-Adolf Hitler {he knew it}

I have been doing a lot of reading, thinking, and praying lately. Truth, it seems, is taking quite a beating.
For the last several weeks I have been talking to God quite a bit about how the gay/lesbian/bi-sexual movement in this country is seeking to normalize these relationships and integrate them into mainstream culture:
- Mainly the establishment of legal gay and lesbian unions.
I have also been continuing to process the issue of abortion. I know what the Bible says about these actions and I know what the culture is trying to say about them.
The Bible condemns both. It condemns them because both acts defy the original plan God had for people in the realm of marriage and family. He made men and women in such a miraculous way that when joined together they have the most amazing gift of creating a new life between the two of them. They could create a family to grow and nurture.
But the world does not view the value of human life the same way Christ Followers do. In this culture the creation of a stable family unit is not the focus.
Rather it is just Sex, and all that goes with it, is. sexua| Intercourse, with whomever, whenever, where ever and without responsibility cries out from all corners of the culture as the behavioral right to be won at all costs. And it has cost this nation a great deal.
The world will continue to build a framework through advertising, situation comedy story lines, popular music, home décor magazines, sports heroes and actors/actresses “coming out,” and finally down to political pressure on lawmakers to protect those who engage in the acts of homosexuality and abortion.
Thus the truth is soon lost or deluted!
This Liberal Culture must succeed in convincing many in the population that homosexuality and abortion are both normal and acceptable. {which is invalid} Culture will focus on this until it neutralizes any opposing voice but it has not quite yet succeeded. Because they have glossed over the real truth!
In any culture, when the infallible absolute standard is missing it is difficult to determine right from wrong. Because there is nothing for comparison to have a a guide! The next best thing is to base right and wrong on the arbitrary reasoning of fallible man. This choice always grinds down to a gray abyss of social behavior in which wrong becomes right and right becomes wrong until eventually there is no wrong at all. The blurred lines are difficult to redraw once culture has eradicated the opposition. This is where we as a people are headed. This is the truth our culture desires.
This is what our culture calls freedom. Think of what happened to Rome… .
In order to believe what the Bible says is true about anything, one must believe that God is truth. If that conclusion is lacking, the only remedy is exposure to the Holy Spirit because he is the loving and patient part of God which deals in the extraordinary business of changing hearts. He makes hearts able to accept truth from God. But as with all things heart related, people have a choice. If we want to know the truth about anything, we have to get to know God. It is a choice.
Truth is taking quite a beating in the cultural war of right and wrong. But knowing the truth is freedom.
**
Here is an example of how the truth is shown and used by God in our human existence!
- Is the truth limited by time and space? No!
- Can the truth only be seen in the eyes of certain people? No!
- Does the truth exist even if you or anyone does not believe it? Yes!
- Is the truth able to free people because it offers the only real answers? Yes!
- Does what someone thinks about the truth change it? No!
- Can the truth be altered? Not in actually!
An example where the truth of God moved forward even when the thoughts of men said otherwise!
** MINISTRY IN ACTION:
Mk. 1:31, "And he came and took her by the hand and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she arose and ministered unto them."
MT. 8:14-17; MK. 1:29-34; LK. 4:38-41
How did Peter's mother-in-law minister unto Jesus and His disciples? Did she sit them down and preach to them? Certainly not. Yet most times people think the only way we can minister to another is to admonish them with the scriptures.
** Peter's mother-in-law apparently ministered to them by serving them. The word translated "minister" is the same word that was translated "deacon" twice in the New Testament, and "serve, served or serveth" eight times.
We can minister for the Lord by doing some of the menial tasks that many consider to be unimportant. Jesus said that even a cup of cold water given in His name would not go unrewarded (Matthew 10:42).
Many people are waiting for the important jobs to come along where they can make a big impact or receive a lot of recognition, while they pass by many lesser opportunities every day.
But in the kingdom of God, we won't be given any great opportunities until we are proven faithful in the small things (Luke 16:10).
Today, ask the Lord to show you ways you can minister to others by serving them.
This is a true statement and purpose of the Truth of the Gospel of Christ; use it wisely!
Do not care want many will say because once you know the truth then you are free to operate within it for eternity!
Seek the truth in your life! Always!
