THE JOURNEY CONTINUES TO WIN BACK OUR SACRED SEEDS-2013
This photo from a series of a sculpture in Balboa Park represented to me the journey to win back our Sacred Seeds that, according to Alfred W. McCann begins with our youth and in the schools. In the schools: by this he meant education of our youth. His adamant decree is told in "The Science of Eating" 1919, and "Starving America." Depraved foods, including depraved refining processes for commercial gain, was one of his themes. This photo was originally intended to inspire the journey to the National Heirloom Expo, September 11-12-13, 2012. The series of images continues to have deep meaning for me as we continue The Campaign to Grow A Healthier Pizza in 2013. I look forward to a lot of stillness in January to get my ideas together for a book called, "Grow A Healthier Pizza."

The Campaign to Grow A Healthier Pizza sets out in 2013 to encourages you to become intimate with the ancient grains of KAMUT ® Khorasan Wheat and the many rare varieties of Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds; as well as other unique seeds that have brought us joy in our own Enchanted Garden.

The Vision and Work of Dr. Bernard Jensen for Food Reform in America
I was first introduced to the Natural Healing Arts by one of its pioneer elders of the 20th century. My education was rounded out by Edmond Bordeaux Szekely. I am honored to be in the stream of their work and translate some of their ideas into practice through some of the KAMUT® Khorasan Ancient Wheat projects 2013.
It was Dr. Bernard Jensen who called upon me to follow in the footsteps of Alfred W. McCann, who was part of the Food Reform Movement in America near 100 years ago.
I want to see Food Reform continue. In this movement this means growing a Grassroots movement that moves beyond GMO Proliferation. To do this we need to get down to the basics.
McCann spoke out in favor of increasing stamina and endurance through the role food could play in our lives. Dr. Bernard Jensen was a master of this.
Dr, Harvey W. Wiley brought this work into the political area, where this giant was repelled by the Special Interests that continue to this day to dominate our thinking of what food is O.K. to eat, even if it is not healthy for us to eat.
Where do we begin? I am not into attacking the institutions that Wiley envisioned. We simple need to return the FDA to its foundational principals make make sure that people are aware what these principles are.

It is now a trend entering 2013, that Government and many corporations work hand in hand to advance the agenda they feel is best. I would like to see this agenda expanded and informed by organic and time tested principles.

Dr. Bernard Jensen, in his practice with more than 350,000 people for more than 50 years of practice helped the people who came to him reawaken conversations with vegetables. He knew his vegetables. He knew their biochemical make up and how many of them could be used to influence the state of health of specific organs of the human body.
We will begin in 2013 to reawaken conversations with vegetables, and move on to look at some of the other things that inspired him to say he was a Nature Boy.

This Seed Dream is to have a Seed Salon at home in the 100 year old Secretary that was used in my Dad's Apartment. The seeds are already there and we are planting various Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds in our front yard as a Demo Site.

THE TOWER OF PIZZA!
Last year in 2012, I met the creator of JuicePlus and the Tower Garden. My sponsor, Lurrae Lupone has set me up with a Tower Garden that is now growing seedlings. I am a soil man, however, in this times of Food Emergency, I support vertical growing of food for those who do not have the space to grow a large plot. Rich McCoy, a housemate set up our Tower Garden and will tend it.

I returned to Rancho La Puerta for my 65th Birthday. I identify my spiritual roots on this land. In the old days, wheat grew here to make fresh bread. What a Vision for now! I see it and seed it! I would like to see a crop of KAMUT ® grow here and be harvested by guests at one special week in 2013.
Perhaps in honor of the Essene Days at Rancho La Puerta.
