Ken Small and I were talking about wheat today.
He told me that the famous incident where Khruchev banged his shoe on the table had to do with wheat.
HERE IS ONE REPORT OF THE INCIDENT
On May 16, at the previously scheduled Paris Summit peace conference, Khrushchev again demanded an apology. When Eisenhower agreed to suspend the overflights but refused to apologize once again, Khrushchev withdrew from the conference, effectively ending any peace negotiations.

Five months after the U-2 incident, the volatile Khrushchev — on the world’s largest political stage, the UN General Assembly — angrily denounced Lorenzo Sumulong, the leader of the Phillipine delegation, as “a jerk, a stooge, and a lackey of imperialism.”
At that point, Khrushchev furiously banged his shoe on the podium, earning him the nickname “Hurricane Nikita.”
According to Ken, the USA sent wheat to Russia. Khruschev was angry because the quality of the US wheat did not compare to the Russian wheat.
He said that American Wheat needed a piece of cheese to give it any value, but still did not have as much value as a piece of Russian bread.
I would like to hear the original of this story.
Ken also said that there is a story out now about a chemical in wheat that caused obesity. It is due to genetic modification.
I want to find this story.
Gluten is not the cause of the main problem with wheat
I do not believe that gluten is the main cause of the problems we are having with wheat. The issue of hybrid wheat is closer to the main cause. We have taken a very special substance and manipulated it to such an extent that the body has allergic reactions to the wheat.
