We are 13 or 14 days before the vote, depending on how I look at the calendar. Yesterday was a shocking day. I was not my best by the time I arrived at the University of California San Diego event in in the Price Theatre.
I was in shock from an experience at PCOM, where one of the Admin who is part of my community revealed, after a bit of probing that he had voted NO on 37. He wanted to protect the Herb Industry. Some of them use Soy and other ingredients in their products.
He had other reasons for voting no. Some were based on assumptions and not knowing what the bill does.
He brought up Prop 65, another people's effort that he felt had hurt the and had intended consequences.
He was not in favor of the initiative process.
He brought up his thought that once this was in law, it could not be amended without another proposition.
That I found out is not the case. The Proposition is written so the legislature can amend it.
He told me he had a background in science.
He prided himself on that.
I referred to the Serilini work in France. He said that studies on rats do not reflect on what is happening in humans.
He said he favored labeling GMOs but did not like this proposition.
I listened. I took notes.
There was more.
I was not going to argue. This is an ongoing relationship and it was more important now to listen
and benefit from the trust between us hear him out. He was sharing his honest experience.
I went next to the Apple Store with the thought of buying the iPad. My head was weary. I was not in any mood to be spending the money.
I did not think I would be in any state to gather signatures that night to make that purchase wise at this point in the game.
I did gather a few signatures, and maybe it might have helped to have the iPad, but I was concerned I might lose it physically because my head was so scattered and my intentions for the eventing--my focus--not strong. I was in my emotions, not my spirit.
There is more I want to say, but I need to watch the clock if I am going to be effective today.
I met Alisha Utter and her sweetheart.
I got Jimbo to sign the 7.5 Million + 2 Petition.
I got Micheele's phone, finally.
I had a few minutes with Jeffrey that were connected.
Yesterday was a full day.
I set up the book.
It will be a book.
I printed.
There was pressure on the computer at College Postal Express. Someone, then two people were waiting.
Suspect Virus's are effected my external disks and hard drive.
More Computer strangeness this morning.
Iphoto main library with latest organization is now lost.
The G-Drive external drive is not lost as of what happened this morning.
Spent time backing up and making sure I have back up copies.
I am uploading this.
A Bright and Shiny 21 Year UCSD Student Saved my Life
I want to tell the remarkable meeting with Alisha Utter.
She organized the program at UCSD last night.
We talked later. She recognized me from another Jeffrey Smith talk earlier in the Summer. She told me the most amazing thing. Because of what I said about the National Heirloom Expo, she decided to go to that show!! Her boyfriend went too!!!
I needed that kind of feedback.
I have been feeling ineffective, discouraged, that I could have done better with my results.
We planted seeds. I was replanted too when she and her beau planted seeds in my Plant Your Dream Pot.
I made video of the interaction.
Jimbo signs too!
Jimbo was there.
He shared the latest results.
The NO folks are now in the lead 48-41.
My grass pot needs to be tended and replanted.
I is weary.
Alisha and Anthony, her boyfriend, planted fresh energy in that pot.
I kept it covered all evening in the bottom of my cart.
I need to call Katrina Frey.
I am regrouping my Spirit now.
I see that the Seeds of Peace Video is important.
We may not win but every voice that raises up now is crucial.
These are the Seeds of Peace that are being planted.
We will be victorious no matter what the vote.
We need to finish strongly.

REVIEW OF UCSD GMO PANEL GATHERING
There was a remarkable at the end interaction between Professor Chrispeal (sp?), a leading proponent of Biotechology and a scientist specialist on the YES side from the Salk Institute.
I need to upload this footage...powerful...Jeffrey was strong. Jimbo was great. Michelle, as a moderator, clearly led to the Yes side.
There were a few new advocates I met.
One had a Video making husband. Pardon my lack of I.D.'s now. I am on the run...
Their video is about "Emily" as is popular behind the Danny DeVito video.
There is so much to say!!!!
This is no longer about Winning the top votes, it is about how seeds we can plant for the eventual victory. Prop 37 was the beginning. We will get Label. We will put GMOs in their place.
The Seeds ask this of us. Evolution asks this of us.
Most people are in ignorance of the same position I hold, and I need to respect where they are in their understanding. We all living in our own boxes. A great crime is being perpetrated now on humanity. I do not like to speak against anything. Truth be told here. There is no issue of telling the truth on the NO side. It is just about getting the votes and defeating this proposition. They will go for that at all costs.
Backing up my Data
Serious computer data loss today, and some recent organization, but I have backups. I need to take time to make sure I am backed up. I may be getting virus that are not suppose to be gotten on a Mac. I suspect the Tiny Storage units I am plugging into College Postal Plus computer.
I know they have had viruses.
I need to find other print solutions.
Maybe the iPad is a cure. Less paper but I hate more
computer buy in in my life.

I had a very shocking experience with one of my trusted Admin friends at PCOM yesterday who echoed this deceptive argument being put out by the NO on 37 side. The Admin, someone I enjoy interacting with, brought up the Prop 65 argument. I checked it out last night at the UCSD GMO panel. There are no real lawsuit concerns with A victory for Prop 37. The Prop is simply written and unlike 65, there is nothing for lawyers to gain. No damages go with the Prop 37. No advantage for lawyers to sue. The Admin friend was also concerned that once passed, there was no way to change adjust the Prop. This is not the case with YES on 37. The legislature has the power to amend the passed law. He also pointed out that numbers of vendors at PacSym are on the NO side because they use Soy. Most soy is genetically engineered and would require a simple label. He was not convinced that the recent two year studies in France that show 70% cancers to rats eating GMO corn was valid, because studies on rats do not relate to humans. Practically all tests for GMO that say it is safe are on rats I found out. There are no long term studies on humans, therefore we need caution. See Genetic Roulette free online. It brings up major health concerns. I am voting YES on 37. I hope you vote yes too. 40 Million is being spent to sidetrack the basic idea that we have a right to Know. http://geneticroulettemovie.com/
Please note that most of the arguments being put out by the NO on 37 side are deceptive and that there is no truth in them. The main goal is to confuse and do all in their power to make sure that people do not win the Right to Know and have GE processed foods labeled.

Jeffrey Smith, Great job last night on the UCSD Panel. The NO side speaker last night was Maarteen Chrispeel, a noted Biotech Scientist and prof of Biology who I met at BIO years ago. He does not give much merit to Organic Food because he does feel it is scientifically proved that it has more nutritional value that conventional food. i got good footage last night.
