Water Fasting and Bikram
Date: 10/17/2012 7:57:47 PM ( 12 y ) ... viewed 20219 times I love Bikram yoga. There's nothing about it I don't like - seriously. It makes me feel good from the inside out. I have been hesitant to practice while on this fast, and tonight I realized why.
Before anyone jumps on me - this is my experience, only. And, I have been practicing Bikram for a very long time. My body is accustomed to the heat, the humidity, and the physical exertion under those conditions. I usually move effortlessly through the poses. And, I have been feeling great on my fast - tons of energy.
So my advice re: Bikram and water fasting? Don't. Period. Don't. Not simply because of energy, and I assure you my hydration levels were very high - rather, I realized that while my body is turning its energy inward towards healing.. that I shouldn't get in its way. Be gentle to your body, let it heal. Go for a walk instead. Sure it's great to sweat and detox, but there will be time for that after the fast.
I feel great, now. However, it took quite a bit of meditating to get me there.
