Petaluma Seed Bank-September 6, 2012
My objective today is to get to the Petaluma Seed Bank.
We are waking up in Gilroy, the Garlic capital of the world, as I remember it.
We drove as far as we could.
Yesterday was an eventful day.
We spent quality time with Patricia Bragg, the lively elder of the Health Movement at her 120 acre organic farm near Santa Barbara.
She was very generous. The land is heaven on earth, and I would like to return there on the way home.
Nadine at a ball.
I took a lot of lovely photos. I have known Patricia for more than 20 years. Esoterically we are both Essene Ministers.
It was good to Shift into high gear on that property.
I had seen in my mind's eye spending time with Patricia at her place, but there had been no time to arrange this on the physical level.
We stayed at Trevor's house in Santa Barbara and planted some further seeds for the success of Santa Barbara's Prop 37 Campaign.
The night previous, there was a delightful gathering of four of the local Label GMO Leadership.
Trevor said it wold be O.K. to come to their meeting 30 minutes late.
This allowed us a bit of time at the Santa Barbara downtown Farmer's Market.
I was able to replicate my Barnum and Bailey Persona with one farmer from
Ojai, however, I needed to tone down my pitches.
Then we met Miquel, another farmer next to the Ojai crew. He was 100% receptive.
It is crucial that the Organic Farmers get on board with taking around Prop 37 materials.
The campaign needs to get to an entirely different level of play.
My objective--my Seed Dream is the Plant The Greatest Grass Roots Movement in CA history.
We need to be having musical events and rallies that have a Vibe of political Rallies.
The closest I project for this will be at the National Heirloom Expo were I am set up to do a brief opening and closing ceremony as well as Teach Grow A Healthier Pizza for adults and kids.
Pamm Larry is at Hami High tonight, Thursday on a program that features both sides of the Label GMO question.
That gathering came out of a Seed I planted April 25 at the Medical Fair at Hamilton High School. You can read about the idea on the Plant Your Dream Blog that I wrote right after the event.
I expressed the idea then. I had books on my table, that also featured numbers of products and produce of companies who have been instrumental in my journey to Win Back Our Sacred Seeds.
The internet has some stories these days about so Called Traitor Organic Companies." I see this energy a distraction from the Grassroots movement I want to create through planting of Grass Roots of KAMUT ® Khorasan Wheat and Baker Creek Seeds.
I look forward as some point to writing more about the state of industry that has created numbers of independent organic companies being owned by parent companies who do not want Prop 37 to win; yet there are these organic companies, such as Silk and Horizon, owned By White Wave, that run independently are our tremendous supporters of the Label GMO movement.
I am so sorry, but that is the current state of our organic economy. I do not feel it is wise to attempt to boycott companies who are invested in Label GMO success. They do, however, need to step up their support of Prop 37 and I want to take that on.
The week before I left San Diego, I hosted Kat Shuette. She is hired now by the CA Right to Know to Label Genetically Engineered Food Act. We planted seeds for her to raise 7 million in money to fund some adds.
I would say the campaign will be served by the Grassroots cooperation I am seeding.
I need to go now.
