Proyección del documental que perteneció a la Gira Ambulante 2012.
Es la historia de la lucha cotidiana de un anciano del pueblo Nahua de San Agustín Oapan, Guerrero. Lucha y trabaja por conseguir el dinero necesario para que le hagan una ceremonia de curación: “Levantamiento de sombra”. Para conseguirlo, Don Silvestre hace lo único que sabe hacer y que quizá solo él hace hoy en día: producir objetos tanto de uso cotidiano como religioso con la fibra de maguey y la palma.

Por costumbre, miles de artesanos en México utilizan plomo en la elaboración de sus piezas de barro vidriado, desconociendo los graves daños que este elemento tóxico provoca en su salud.
Herlinda, una indígena purépecha, es de las pocas alfareras que utiliza esmaltes alternativos libres de plomo. Ahora que ha obtenido la salud para su familia se enfrenta a la difícil tarea de encontrar mercado para sus impresionantes piezas. Esto no le quita brillo al sueño de que su taller prospere y sus hermanos regresen de Estados Unidos para reintegrarse a la tradición familiar. Un viaje inesperado podría cristalizar este sueño.
Este documental recibió el Grand Prix Ateliers d’Art de France.

Lesli está muy orgulloso de participar en esta plática frente a la montaña que le trae varios recuerdos. Conocerás el poder de las semillas originales como semillas sagradas para sembrar tus intenciones. En la actualidad mucha gente siembra su comida como una moda, si lo haces procura que sean con semillas originales, no transgénicas porque esto pone en riesgo nuestro futuro. La leyenda de Noe dice que los granos de trigo KAMUT que tenía en su arca eran originales y que se guardaron para estos tiempos de desafío. El uso de semillas antiguas como el trigo y el jitomate que sean originales.

Cuchumá: La montaña sagrada de Tecate, es un video documental que registra la percepción sobre la condición espiritual, mística y ceremonial asociada a la montaña a través de las voces de nativas y nativos k’miai; personajes emblemáticos del yoga y la difusión de la filosofía hindú; neomexicanistas que realizan ceremonias en la montaña; pintores y escultores, que desde una perspectiva secular utilizan al Cuchumá como referente de su producción artística.
Duración es de 60 min.
Dirigido por Pável Valenzuela Arámburo.
Este documental es parte de un proyecto de investigación coordinado por José Manuel Valenzuela, titulado “Mística Popular Transfronteriza. Tradiciones, mitos y santos populares en la frontera México-Estados Unidos”.

This year's festival is coming together very nicely, we ar offering 7 weekend workshops with traditional healers and teachers from Mexico and Peru. The prices mentioned above are for the work shops.
In addition there will be an open air market with traditional healers and medicine, artesans and talks on traditional medicine all weekend. The talks and presentations in the market area are FREE and open to the general public. The FREE talks will cover traditional Herbal Medicine with speakers from the USA & Mexico as well as talks on other types of traditional healing practices and anthropological topics.

Traditional medicine is not the past, it’s the future! This is the motto of this festival that for an entire weekend will offer workshops, talks, walks, documentary and a lot more, all with the goal of sharing the knowledge of Mother Earth’s true medicine.
The Escuela de la Madre Tierra and the Instituto Mexicano de Medicinas Tradicionales invite you to enjoy a weekend with teachers and faith healers who will share their experience about ancient traditional medicine.
