heart palpitations and exercise.
exercise and arrhythmia and the anxiety cycle produced by them.
Date: 10/29/2011 7:43:47 AM ( 13 y ) ... viewed 20927 times it seems like the never ending cycle of anxiety associated with my heart palpitations/arrhythmia never ends. i was told a long time ago that exercise would help diminish their frequency and effect on my brain. this is in fact a true statement for the most part. however, sometimes exercise greatly exacerbates the problem, therefore creating more anxiety. the cycle for me and i'm sure for lots of other folks is; i get the pvc, pat or run of skipped heart beats and the anxiety pump fires up. this in turn fuels the arrhythmia which then fuels the anxiety, which then fuels the arrhythmia which then fuels the anxiety.... and on and on and on...........and on. what i have noticed recently, is that when i lift weights, my heart is all over the place-skipping, fluttering, etc., but when i'm done lifting weights, i jump on the ellipse machine and do a strong 52 minutes of cardio, without so much as a flutter. i understand the physiology behind the arrhythmia phenomena and how it works with exercise, but i still can't help feeling that sense of impending doom when they strike. i have been told countless times that my heart is ok and that their is nothing to worry about, but my little demon committee in my head still says something is jacked up. anyway, that's all i have for today.
