I welcome support from the 1-10 coalition members, my allies in Cultivation Food Justice, Food Not Lawns , and Grapevine Readers,
for the Enchanted Garden Makeover and Overgrowth Clean Up. We continue or Makeover and Overgrowth Clean Up this Saturday, 9 am-5 pm; and Sunday 1-5.
We are a 1/3 acre near San Diego State that has been an ENchanted Garden Intentional Community Growing Grounds for more than 30 years.
We are working in coordination with the City of San Diego Fire Prevention Bureau and our neighbors to talk the step toward community service that will involve stettin up the Enchanted Garden Pantry, a model set of organic offerings where those who help us with our projects both outside and in can partake of some of the finest of organic food offerings, services, and natural healing arts products.
We will have a large shredder-chipper rented from AI rentals on University.
The Miramar Greenery said the Arundo Donax, reed-like bamboo cane could not be mulched; we mulched it.
The San Diego Fire Prevention Bureau advised initially to use Round Up to kill the roots of this plant they call invasive and others around the world
consider a magnificent gift with many uses including garden stakes, thatched roofs, privacy screens, musical instruments and more.
The current belief is held by many parks is that Arundo Donax needs to have its roots killed with Round Up. Increasingly this is showing itself as a carcinogen,
dangerout to plant, animal, and human life. I want to demonstrate on going videos that show natural means to manage the stands on bordering our property.
Many Hands Make Light Work is our main remedy. We are coming up with many creative solutions, and there is a potentilal for funding as we educate.
The latest communication is that Arundo Donax mulch should not be reapplied to the canyon or nearby. It is imagined by the Fire Prevention Bureau that perhaps Arundo Mulch can sprout causing the so named invasive plant to spread. We are doing experiments to show that mulched Arundo will not sprout.
Arundo Donax has the potential to replace ethenol as the lead Biofuel Source and provide jobs locally through managing it. There is much to learn through
coming out and helping here. This is just one of our projects.
TRADE FOR SERVICES
I will trade products and foods for your time. FES Flower Essences are one offering now. They sell for $15.00 a bottle. I can trade at $10.00 an hour for help.
We need help shredding, chipping, moving of Overgrowth branches, and more. I can pay out some money as well $10.00 per hour trades on food and some cash, or volunteer.
I recently returned from Washington where I spoke before the USDA Organic Listening Day, making many friends.
I want to see 1,000,000 new People Gardens as part of the Organic People's Garden Project.
I want to see our land be of stepped up service to the SDSU and Neighbors as a learn to grow food and cooperative living center of activity.
It would mean a lot if you, personally, took an interest in what we are doing here.
We also have a number of room vacancies.
This is an exciting time to link up with my 1-10 allies.
We can do a lot together.
Call to help on Saturday or Sunday.
