Teachers layoffs at Hamilton High has caught my attention

THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS IN THE WORLD
RIGHT NOW THAT ARE NOT WORKING
I am stunned there are so many.
Then there are a few things that are working
and they need are help.
One that deserves a lift is
The Hamilton High Music Academy.
I met Marlene Ziccaro, June 20,
and I was impressed.
I had the opportunity to teach in the classroom
a bit on Monday. I was very moved by the
preciousness of the students.
It was a very healing experience.

and threaten popular magnets. Students are rallying to save the programs.

The news rippled across the campus Friday morning, and students were falling apart. They texted their parents and sought out one another
to see if it could all be true.
"I saw kids crying in the quad," said Portia Amofa,
student body president at Hamilton High School in West Los Angeles.

BIO NOTE
MARLENE C. ZUCCARO
Marlene Zuccaro has been teaching at the Academy of Music for 10 years. Previously she had been the director of the drama program and Performing arts chair. She stepped into this new position in Fall, 2008, and looks upon the new job of directing a very large production. Ms. Z has been directing and teaching theater for her entire career which began in the last century.. Ms. Zuccaro has a BS.in Education from Northern Illinois University and MA in Directing and Theater education from Vermont College.
