THE KEY TO THE TIPPING POINT FOR A MORE BEAUTIFUL WORLD
IS FOR ALL OF US, OR MANY OF US
TO COLLABORATE AND NOT CALL EACH OTHER NAMES
Divide and conquer is how "they" get us.
Sadly, the future of farms is not about making anyone wrong.
Julia Butterfly Hill says it well in here speaking engagement
at the recent SDSU Greenfest.
There is a mandate now, I felt is so strongly for each of us
to grow some of our own food, so we can raise up a consciousness
that we can be one with the beat of nature.
The very act of growing a bit of our own food is the key
to making good decisions in relationship to the earth.
I have written much lately on this theme.

The royal family has long received sizable government subsidies for its vast landholdings, many of which are classified as agricultural property.
“As things stand, doing the right thing is penalized,” the prince said. “Has the time arrived that we need to take a long hard look at how public subsidies are geared?”
He said that governments should “grasp one of the biggest nettles of them all” by replacing the subsidies for food factories that mistreat animals and harm the land with incentives for a more humane and durable form of agriculture.
“The point,” he said, “is to achieve a situation where the production of healthy food is rewarded and becomes more affordable and the earth’s capital is not so eroded.”
Prince Charles was to meet with President Obama later Wednesday.

POWERFUL EXCERPTS FROM THE FUTURE OF FOOD
CONFERENCE HELD MAY 4, 2011

BROUGHT TO YOU BY MARS...
This points out in interesting phenomena
I call a result of have lost the beat with nature...
Mars sponsors GMO as well as organic.
The owner of Mars is well meaning family
who also owns Seeds of Change, a company
I very much admire that sells heirloom organic seeds.
http://www.mars.com/global/global-brands.aspx
I WAS FASCINATED
THAT MARS WAS ONE OF THE MAIN SPONSORS
OF THE FUTURE OF FOODS CONFERENCE
One of their companies is one of my favorities,
Seeds of Change.
This is very healthy discussion here...
Mars, on top of many products also sells
Snickers and other GMO items...
That is just they way things are right now.
We have gotten too big.
Small will give the power back to the locals.
Prince Charles is basically saying that...
The key is getting your own beat with nature back
so you have a change to be all of one piece.
We, including I, are very much fragmented.
The key is nature contac hands on.

When a visionary like Shapiro gets involved with a large company you get a bottomless rabbit's hole discussion about the morality of "change from within" and taking a good concepts, like organics and biodiversity, to the masses. You're all welcome to debate these issues in the comments, but here at Homegrown Evolution we're moving on to a soon to be defined new paradigm. All we know is that it will be more local, and the seeds we exchange will be our own.
Of course, if the Skittles folks offer to pay off Homegrown Evolution's mortgage and dental bills . . .
SEEDS OF CHANGE

Research farm
The Seeds of Change Research Farm and Gardens were founded in 1989 in Gila, New Mexico.[3] In 1996 the Research Farm moved north to a site closer to the company's Santa Fe offices. The farm includes over a thousand varieties of plants on six acres of land originally cultivated by the Tewa people on a flood plain along the Rio Grande River in El Guique, New Mexico. The farm is certified organic by Oregon Tilth.
In August 2010, Mars, Incorporated announced that it would close the El Guique farm and move some management to Los Angeles. A final tour of the farm was provided on Saturday, August 14. A spokesperson for Mars indicated the closure was due to a "strategic shift" and that not all the employees would retain their jobs.[4] One farm employee was left as of August 14, 2010. Others were relieved of their jobs without prior notice about August 1, 2010.

Employee Liz Clayton-Jones, Mars UK stated in an interview "One of the principles [of the Mars company] is "Freedom", which is embodied by the fact that we're a family-owned, private business with the freedom to innovate, invest and define success by our own high standards. In addition, our "Associate Concept" is fundamental to the way all our employees are treated and respected: we believe our employees are our most valuable assets. Common to this is our egalitarian culture of equality and accessibility, which stems from the Quaker roots of the Mars family." The property is being sold without consideration for the value of the accumulated knowledge that was on store at the site.
