THE STATE OF KARPAS
Our Relationship to food is out of order.
My Relationship to food is out of order.
I am implicated in the marketing campaign to
help remedy this situation.
I am looking at some serious issues this morning
of April 19, 2011.
I went to a Sedar last night.
It had magical elements,
it also for me did not go deep enough
in light of the conversations I have had in my head
in recent weeks about Cultivating Food Justice.
The Passover is not a fun story.
It has deep meaning.
The sedar last night was about having fun,
there was an undercurrent of stress as well.
We are told to tell the story every year.
Why would we be asked to do that if it were not
important, very important?
SAM MURRAY
Sam Murray knew.
He had a right relationship with food.
Unless a person grows some of their own food,
it is impossible to have a right relationship to food.
Who can I talk to about this?
Who understands now the nature of the problem,
that we have lost our beat with nature,
and that, because of this....
we are in serious trouble?
HOW AM I GOING TO PLAY OUT THIS DAY?
How am I going to prepare for the journey out of Egypt?
Am I going to get out of Egypt this year?
The Pharoah is bigger than ever.
The problem is growing bigger and bigger.

Did Sam understand the problem?
He was part of the solution.
He grew his own food.
He had a good relationship with animals.

He sat next to me at the table.
I gave him some Original Quinton Marine Plasma..
Last night I played the fool card...
I was given a gift by Moshe...
Moshe led the sedar...

Our relationship with food is out of order,
and it can come back if we can establish
a right relatioship with Karpas.
Karpas our greens...
Greens that we serve on the Seder table....
ALL STIRRED UP
all stirred up....
by attending a conventional sedar last night.
The issues, the scabs, are raw inside me.
