May 20, The New Roots Community Farm
has 84 plots of food growing. Carol, left,
from Cambodia, was visiting the farm for the first time.
She participated in the ritual.
The New Roots Farm recently received certification
to sell at the Farmers' Market, Amy Lint, told me.
They are at the City Heights Farmers; Market.
The new roots fall went through a costly permitting process.
If things go well, future community gardens and farms will have
an easier time starting up.

Yesterday was the Spring Equinox. I took time to plant intentions. I took time
to celebrate the arrival of two really great new housemates who will be living here at the Enchanted Garden growing grounds in San Diego. We gathered at the New Roots Community Farm in City Heights, where Amy Lint, farm coordinator lead Michelle Obama on a tour last April 15, 2010. Amy, Malaki,
and I will be participating in a Speak Out for Cultivating Food Justice April 9-10. These images remind me to take time in graditute to celebrate what has been accomplished and to plant seeds of intention for what can be this Spring and beyond.
