It is 2;16 am
the early morning following
launch of Organic Uprising at the Natural Product Expo West.
We really need an Organic Uprising now.
I woke up with pain in my shoulders and my feet
are aching.
I have been living almost 24/7 on a diet
of my favorite natural remedies,
a few limited foods that I help me
get by under stress conditions,
and mainly a ton of appreciation
for the activist work I have been doing here.
There are times I do not like pushing around
a cart at the Natural Product Expo West.
Carts are for the most part forbidden on the show floor
but because of my handicap placard I have adapted
a portable Enchanted Garden Installation
on wheels.
In it I am able to summon my Feng Shui skills.
By day foiur I have had my routine down,
two baskets from Ghana from a favorite
company I met at the CA Small Farm Conference
with various essentials, and on top of this,
my plant materials.
The plant materials in the cart
I bought new at the Container Store
included:
1- Keep The Beet Media Star
The World's First Growing Beet Plant,
my get your beat back with nature project
through growing a beet in a pot.
2- Two to four BioSmart containers--sugar cane bagasse
with growing organic alfalfa seeds.
3- Eycaliptus leaves and various organically grown
fragrant flowers I was able to weave into the lattice of the cart,
4- in the first two days, some cut herbs from the
Enchanted Garden that I brought in a pot,
SHOULDER PAIN
I realize some of the pain I am feeling in my shoulders
is likely due to this desk. I am not use to typing at this level.
CAPTURING IDEAS
The natural product Expo West is my first event of the season.
It signals coming out of winter for me.
SEED DREAMS FOR THE SHOW
1- My intent at the show was to get support for the Organic Uprising
campaign.
2- To get sponsors for the new Plant Your Dream Blog
3- To interview some of the Organic Stakeholders
who were involved in the recent USDA deregulation GE Alfalfa
issue.
4- To get self healing from the ordeal of winter
at home. I have been in need of numbers of house mates.
When this happens, I have to cut into my activist life
on the internet. This is costly to my mental health.
DISNEYLAND SUPER 8 MOTEL
It would be good to have an ongoing alliance with the
Disneyland Super 8, within walking distance of the
Anaheim Convention Center.
I have a real ally here in Ron.
He has worked here for many years and knows me
by name.
This time I had some real special food needs.
The motel basically looked the other way when I set up
a crock pot during the night two of my five nights.
This was a real concern.
I can get IBS symptoms.
They also provided me a frig that really worked
great.
For the first time ever,
the Marriott charge me for parking
on Friday. This was a stress.
I have never paid $35.00 to park
anywhere, but I needed to get in and did not have
time to pinch dollars.
That in itself turned into a healing adventure
and blog I want to write.
