We Stand in Opposition to GE ALfalfa--All of us.
We ALL Need to Stand in Opposition to GE ALfalfa.
Every faction that cares for life needs to come together now
in favor of Nature' Original Technology.
We all-including Monsanto Corporation--
need a Moment of Awakening,
1000 years from now,
if our world is to not only survive, but thrive,
we will have turned away from Biotech Ag.
Now is the time.
This is the moment.
"Every once in a while an issue comes along

to spontaneously unite in opposition.
This is one of those times.
I am very honored to post this letter,

do what you can to fight against the GMO contamination
of our bodies and our environment by demanding organic.

AN UPRISING OF ORGANIC ALFALFA
http://curezone.com/blogs/fm.asp?i=1772526
We Stand in Opposition to GE ALfalfa--All of us.
http://curezone.com/blogs/fm.asp?i=1768143
We ALL need to stand together now
and turn away from Biotechology applied to agriculture.
We need to do this so that 1000 years from now,
our future relations will say that people,
even those in the Biotech Ag industry,
came to their common senses and reinvested
in Nature's Original Technology back here
at the beginning of the 21st Century.
I saw the writing on the wall for the situation that
has turned into the full deregulation of GE alfalfa seeds--
sugar beet seeds--and everything to come--at the beginning of
the summer of 2009, when I attended BIO--
The Biotechnology Industry Organization convention
In San Diego. Then in 2010, I was a member of the Press Crops
at both the AAAS --our lead US science organization--
as well at he California Small Farms Conference.
All these conferences were held in my city of San Diego,
where our thriving local organic community, if turned free
from regulation could grow enough organic alfalfa
and other crops to feed a good part of every organic
cow that wanted to eat Real Food Safety.
At the AAAS I meet face to face with
Dr. Robert Fraley, the father of Round Up Ready
who works for Monsanto Corporation.
I had plants from our Enchanted Garden Intentional Community
on the podium when he spoke. He likely never noticed.
I spoke to the man. I planted organic beet seeds with
him in a pot that aimed to close the gap between
GMO lovers and Organic Lovers.
I decided to pray for the man.
I took the beet that grew in a pot to the desert for a Passover
Retreat that ended on Easter Sunday. Amazingly,
there was an earthquake that followed a few hours later,
but I never felt it.
When I met Dr. Robert Farley,
I knew in that moment, that I was doing something
that would shift the nature of our world.
MY SEED DREAM
UNCLE SAM MARRIES AUNTIE GMO
READ MORE HERE ABOUT UNCLE SAM
MARRIES AUNTIE GMO
http://curezone.com/blogs/fm.asp?i=1615145
At that AAAS conference, I realized that our president
and Washington were married to GMO technology.
I realized thereafter, that President Obama had two wifes.
The first was Michelle, who feeds him organic food.
The other is Auntie GMO.
I believe that truly Uncle Sam needs to marry
Anti GMO...By "Auntie" I mean "Anti" GMO.
It is not Tom Villsack, our Secretary of Ag,
who was pulling the strings of the White House
on this GE alfalfa Issue. It is the enormous Biotech industry,
who by the way, have many well meaning members.
I saw them face to face at BIO 2009, the Biotechology
Industry Organization meeting.
The issue of coexistence between different forms
of agriculture was in the air at the California
Small Farms Conference that I attended
right after the AAAS.
The USDA, as early as the beginning of 2010
was asking for a co-existence between Biotech Ag,
Conventional, and organic.
Know then what I knew about the needs of organic,
and how organic seed was contaminated by Biotech's
GE seeds, I wanted to know how the USDA imagined
this was possible.
Pegg Rayne was a replacement that day for
Kathryrn Merrigan of the USDA. I asked her
how they could co-exist. The issue was new to her.
She said she would go back to Washington and find out.
The California Secretary of Ag, A.G. Kawamura
was a speaker at the California Small Farm Conference.
He was very supportive of my idea of a Dialogue on
Science, Ethics, and Food. He told me that he
farmed organically as well as conventionally.
We made a video.
My point: we all need to come
together now, in defense of Nature's Original Technology.
We all need to learn to live together.
We all need to sit down and have a real Dialogue on Science,
Ethics, and Food.
We all need to join a Campaign to Educate Washington
on Real Food Safety that can only begin in our own
backyards, and then radiate outward to our local Farmers'
Market, to our school cafeterias, and to places in Washington
where a handful of elected representatives now imagine
they have it in their authority to determine the fate of
Real Food Safety.
As Dr. Fraley and I planted, we need to close the gap,
and lessen the tension between all who imagine they
understand food and its purpose. We need to begin to talk.
Our organic message needs to get out to the public
as successfully as the Biotech industry is getting their
message home to Washington.
THIS IS MY MESSAGE
The message I am putting out is this.
We have lost our beat with nature.
We can regain our beat by doing something
small. Start to turn your own beat of nature around, literally,
by planting an organic beet in a pot.
In this moment of awakening, surround
your beet with with growing organic alfalfa too!
We need to become a nation of gardeners
and micro farmers once again, and we need to support
our local organic farmers that remain.
THE END OF TAKE ONE
HAS ARRIVED
"Humanity is perched
as a rock falling.
What we do not will determine
if that rock falls,
or we all rise up to heaven."
--Leslie Goldman
Your Enchanted Gardener
We have come to the end of Take One
on planet earth. Many of us still do not
realize that a shift has happened.
We need to have a Take Two that begins now.
I am asking each of us, to go out
and get some organic alfalfa seeds now,
and some organic beets, and start to grow some of our own food.
We need to grow some of our own food again,
even one pot of food, and then get on a first name
basis with the farmers and nature product makers
who are growing the rest of our food.
We seriously need a moment of awakening.
The Biotech supporters, the organic lovers-- most of us
have never grown any food, not even beet greens in a pot.
A beet repotted will continue to grow greens that we can eat.
Growing our own food is as simple as this.
This is the beginning.
It is time now to have a Take Two for our entire earth.
Before anything else natural and life giving is going to make
sense, we are asked to reconnect with our own nature.
Infighting between those in the Organic community
will not bring us one step closer to learning to
adapt to nature now; This is an issue of massive and major priority.
There are days when I too am not sure I am going to make it
through the Shift into cooperative living that is asked of me,
but that Shift is being asked of us all now.
Truly, this is a moment to begin accepting that
we are in a Rock Your Soul Opera that is asking
us to begin to talk to food, as much as food--even
a beet plant-- can talk to us.
I call my beet Keep The Beet Media Star,
The World's First Talking Beet Plant.
She is a fictional character that has come alive
in my life and the life of others.
So if you want to see ourselves out of this
Great Earth Clean Up that is asked now of all of us,
see and seed the future with some organic alfalfa,
and start to grow some organic beets yourself.
One beet in a pot, that is what Keep The Beet---
and Mother Earth--is asking of you now.
Keep The Beet.

In the aftermath of USDA’s decision on GE alfalfa, some are harshly criticizing organic companies that favored a compromise. But make no mistake. USDA’s final decision is only supported by agricultural biotech companies – not organic food companies such as Stonyfield Farm or Whole Foods – but by Monsanto and the other biotech companies that produce and sell GE alfalfa. While the Center for Food Safety and other advocacy groups may have some differences with the position originally taken by some organic food companies, these companies are not the enemy.
In the coming months, we will be seeing USDA proposals to allow unrestricted plantings of GE sugar beets, and GE corn and soy crops designed to resist toxic pesticides such as 2-4D and Dicamba, highly toxic pesticides that pose a serious threat to our health and the environment. To win these critical and difficult battles, the entire organic community, and our allies in the conventional food and farming community, will have to work together. Now is not the time for organic infighting, but rather a time for us to come together to fight a common enemy and work to protect our farms, our food, and our environment.

We stand united in opposition to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) decision to once again allow unlimited, nationwide commercial planting of Monsanto's genetically engineered (GE) Roundup Ready alfalfa, despite the many risks to organic and conventional farmers.
Last spring more than 200,000 people submitted comments to the USDA highly critical of the substance and conclusions of its draft EIS on GE Alfalfa. Instead of responding to these comments and concerns, including expert comments from farmers, scientists, academics, conservationists, and food safety and consumer advocates, the USDA has chosen instead to listen to a handful of agricultural biotechnology companies.
USDA's decision to allow unlimited, nationwide commercial planting of
Monsanto's GE Roundup Ready alfalfa without any restrictions flies in the face of the interests of conventional and organic farmers, preservation of the environment, and consumer choice. USDA has become a rogue agency in its regulation of biotech crops and its decision to appease the few companies who seek to benefit from this technology comes despite increasing evidence that GE alfalfa will threaten the rights of American farmers and consumers, as well as damage the environment.
The Center for Food Safety will be suing on this decision.
In the coming months, we will be seeing USDA proposals to allow unrestricted plantings of GE sugar beets, and GE corn and soy crops designed to resist toxic pesticides, such as 2-4D and Dicamba, highly toxic pesticides that pose a serious threat to our health and the environment. To win these critical and difficult battles, the entire organic community, and our allies in the conventional food and farming community, will have to work together.
Now is the time to unite in action. We need to work together to restore sanity to our food system, stop the deregulation of GE crops and join together against the forces that are seeking to silence hundreds of thousands of Americans.
As we move forward, we are united in opposing genetically engineered organisms in food production and believe that pressure to stop the proliferation of this contaminating technology must be focused on the White House and Congress. The companies responsible for this situation are the biotech companies whose GE technology causes genetic drift and environmental hazards that are not contained as the deregulation of genetically engineered alfalfa goes forward. The organic community stands together with consumer, farmer, environmental and business interests to ensure practices that are protective of health and the environment.
We urge you to join us today.

Consider making a donation to the legal effort ahead.
Let the White House know that you do not support the deregulation of GE alfalfa.

Tensions following USDA's action have run high as members of the organic industry reacted to the news. Now, sustainable agriculture advocates including National Cooperative Grocers Association, Organic Valley, Stonyfield, and organic champion Maria Rodale are calling for organizations to "stand together in opposition to GE alfalfa." As we regroup and redouble our efforts to protect organic agriculture, these unifying messages are more important than ever. The USDA's decision last week was a tremendous setback, but the fight is far from over.
