Hope for Organic Alfalfa: An Open letter
written February 11, one month before
the Natural Product Expo West
at the Anaheim Convention Center,
March 10-13, 2011.
A letter giving Gratitude and Thanks to
all those who have helped me get here,
for allowing me to serve.

For many years, I have brought living plant life to the show office
of the Natural Product Expo West, the largest
natural and organic products trade show in the United States
each year. I have made a simple offering
there, a simple altar intended
to ensure the success of the annual event
at the Anaheim Convention Center.
This year the NPEW was be help March 10-13, and
I will be there as usual.
This year, the show plant will be organic alfalfa, growing in
reused miso plastic container, surrounded by little
alfalfa BioSmart Packaging containers, that are intended
to be composted, leaving no trail behind in our landfills
and oceans.
Organic alfalfa is called the Father of
Foods. The name alfalfa means father of foods. This grass has
existed since the beginning of culture as well as civilization.
In January 2011 President Barach Obama, over rode the wishes
of his secretary of agriculture, Tom Villsack to push for deregulation
of GE, Genetically Engineeered alfalfa.
To understand this move, we need to look back from the future
at what we are doing now, as well as look at the recent history
of GE contamination of our food supply,
The contamination of our food supply by Industrial agricultural methods
as well as GE technology applied to agriculture is an issue that I would like
the thousands upon thousands of attendees at the upcoming Natural Product Expo West to hear about.
We all need to back the coalition against GE Foods. You can read about this
on the site of one of my favorite organizations at the NPEW, The Organic Center, as well as the site of the The Organic Trade Association.

Here where I live with seven others in San Diego, a few blocks from San Diego State University, we are involved in what Edmond Bordeuax Szekeley, cofounder of Rancho La Puerta, called The Great Experiment.
This is the issue for all of us now:
Can we learn to stop asking nature to adapt to us?
Can we adapt to nature? This is an issue of existence vs non-existence.
Szekely, who died in 1979 would have said:
It is a mistake to imagine we cannot live in the 21st century.
It is a bigger mistake to imagine we can only live in the 21st Century.
Dr. Bernard Jensen, my spiritual father, was a master at helping
more than 350,000 people improve their health through coming to us
Food as Medicine. He believed wholeheartedly in the work of
HIppocrates, the father of medicine. It was Hippocrates who said
"Let Food Be Thy Medicine."
Dr. Bernard Jensen loved organic alfalfa. This was one of his
main remedies that he gave me to improve my arthritis.
It is time now to take a stand on once again entering into
a true Dialogue on Science, Ethics, and Food with all those people
behind corporations who are now determining the future of our food
supply.
I call on the President of the United States, I call on all our elected
reps in Washington to Chew on Food Safety: A Natural Conversation is Needed.
We can no longer leave the fate of our food supply to a handful of
elected reps who do not frequent health food stores or do not know
personally the love and care, and real food safety offered by our
remaining local organic farmers.
If others in Biotechnology have real answers that they wish to speak out
honestly and openly to the future children of generations, now is the time.
We simply must sit down together and Dialogue.
We simple have say, Lettuce Keep The Beet Together!"
if we are to be here at all on our lovely planet.

GIVING GRATITUDE AND THANKS
I want to thank Tony Lantz
Senior Tech support for the Hitachi company
for coming through for me.
I originally bought a Dou Pro 2.0 at Fry's
electronics in Vista.
I had to replace the Duo Pro 2.0 three times.
It was frustrating.
I got in touch with Hitachi Tech support.
Tony Lantz was my tech helper.
He got permission, after the third breakdown
for the Pro Duo 2.0 to be replaced with the
G-Raid.
I depend on my external drive working for me.
This machine that has some portability
as well as stamina appears to be working fine for me.
I was one of the Drumbbeat San Diego leadership
support for their first annual event that occurred on February
5, 2011 at the Queen Bees Art & Cultural Center in North Park
San Diego.
I want to thank the Apple Store and its amazing Genius Bar
techs for helping me get grounded on my Imac and Mac Book Pro
during a very difficutl time when I have had a lot of trouble
finding my ground during a severe shift period at home
here at the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community Growing Grounds.

THESE ARE OUR AIMS
1-To support mobilization of one Farmers’ Market in our local area, the Hillcrest Farmers’ Market in San Diego. To continue to work with local organic farmers and help them sell more of their produce.
2-To continue to develop a 1/3 acre parcel of land near San Diego State College named the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community Growing Grounds where those who live here and who live around the world may study our process of learning how to keep the beat with nature through learning to live together cooperatively as a household that seeks to live in harmony with the earth. The motto of the house will be Keep The Beet. Through growing a simple beet in a pot, we can regain our beat with nature. Not all in the house garden. Some like to prepare food. Others help with other jobs, or rent. The land, as of January 2010 is being refinanced. A Trust to hold the land is being explored. The Seed Dream would be to leave a museum and park for future generations to learn from this experiment in cooperative living that has been going on since the early 1970′s. The intent is that what we learn here can help others, and Washington, understand and adapt to some of the shifts being asked of all of us now.
3- To develop relationships with those who influence Washington and government. A vast coalition across all political, religious, and philosophical lines has now formed. Mainstream media needs to be reached through bloggers filling the gap where journalism once told all points of view. Elected leaders need to be encouraged to follow the principles expressed in the song “America The Beautiful.”
4- We see the world as we know it now coming to an end. A Shift has already happened. It is for each of us to adapt to the earth and relearn the laws of nature, rather than attempt to further adapt nature to our ways. The source of our economic and health crisis is that we have lost our beat with nature. We can regain the beet through becoming once again a nation of gardeners who live in a world of gardeners. One Pot+One person=You are a Gardener. Start to grow your own food now.
