This coming Tuesday, the sun and moon with both appear at their darkest as the winter solstice and lunar eclipse occur at the same time for the first time in 456 years. Those in North America will be particularly well positioned to see the lunar eclipse, according to NASA.
A lunar eclipse is a bi-annual event which occurs when the earth blocks the sun's rays from hitting the moon. But, this is the first time in 35 months that a total lunar eclipse has been seen and is said to be the "best lunar show" until 2014.
As many as 1.5 billion people worldwide will be able to watch when the Earth's shadow creeps across the moon's surface early Tuesday morning, the first time in hundreds of years that a lunar eclipse will fall on the winter solstice.
With the full moon high in the winter sky, the lunar eclipse will be visible from four continents, with the best views from North America and Central America if weather permits, scientists say.

A lunar eclipse is a bi-annual event which occurs when the earth blocks the sun's rays from hitting the moon. But, this is the first time in 35 months that a total lunar eclipse has been seen and is said to be the "best lunar show" until 2014.
The eclipse will begin at 1:33 am and last until 5:01 am EST, however the actual eclipse portion will last just 72 minutes, between 2:41 am and 3:53 am. During this time the full moon may appear a bright red or blood orange color.
The winter solstice, the "darkest day of the year", also occurs on Tuesday. The Earth's axial tilt moves the planet farthest from the sun, and the day is shorter.

Today is December 20th, and this evening there will occur a blue moon eclipse beginning at 11:30 pm MST, climaxing with the full eclipse at 1:15 am. It is the first full lunar eclipse in three years next and will not reoccur for another nineteen years.
This eclipse is significant because it is occurring on the galactic cross, in alignment with the center of our galaxy (the energetic center that the Mayans called Hunam Ku). Correlatively, within a few days, Mercury will return from retrograde and will be conjunct with Pluto, Mars and the Moon’s North Node also in alignment with this galactic center. Mercury’s return conjunct with the North Node represents the rising soul of humanity and in this context is a prophetical indicator of dawning age. This astrological configuration is represents a major epoch transformation beyond our minds ability to comprehend. This is the closest to what was predicted would happen on 12/21/2012; however, it appears it is happening now in 2010. This is not necessarily a surprise, as Don Alejandro, the chief Mayan elder, has actually said that this event would happen between 2010 and 2014.
This era changing time is a tremendous boost and a gift for us to move into the consciousness of the Culture of Life and Liberation and transform ourselves. The only thing that is real in this galaxy is God (ayn zulato). The only purpose of life is to know God; to cleave to God (deveikut), and chey’rut (enlightenment) in which the glass ceiling of the mind shatters, and we know our absolute oneness. I have given you the Six Foundations and the Sevenfold Peace as ways of preparing your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual complexes to awaken to deveikut/chey’rut. One simple way to further support this process at this point of time is moving from the consciousness of receiving to the consciousness of sharing. The way we know God ultimately is by moving into the oneness consciousness of the Divine and the process of doing this is transforming our essence to resonate with the One. A core aspect of resonating with the One is to become the power of sharing. We are dedicating this era changing time by suggesting we transform our soul essence from one of receiving to one of sharing. This is the essence of what it means to transform from the culture of death to the Culture of Life.

This is my way of being part of the transition from receiving to sharing.
