I had fun today at the Hillcrest Farmers' Market.
This is not your every day shopping experience.
One of the highlights was visiting with
LIndsay, her two children, Sophia and Grace, and
her friend Courtney. They came down from
North County and could more easily go to the
Solana Beach Farmers' Market.
They decided to go Farmers' Market exploring
today and came to the Hillcrest Farmers' Market.
9 am-2 pm at the Hillcrest DMV.
Come around 11 am-2 pm if you want to meet
Keep The Beet Media Star, The World's First Talking
Beet Plant. She hangs out at JR Organics, Sage Mountain
Farm, and La Milpa Organic Farm stalls. All three
are the Beet Keeper Growers and of Course, friends.
Right now there is a not of food left over from
the Three Beet Keeper Growers, so come on down
and get some whole, pure, natural, fresh local
organic food to feed those you love--starting
with you!
We began sampling some of Joe the Farmers' fresh veggies.
Jun 13, 2010, and the free samples goes on most of the
summer.
I spent a few hours doing the sampling.
This is definitely one of my favorite pastimes!
I borrowed Joe's knife and cut up some a cucumber,
some beans, some squash, and very special carrots.
It is so much fun to reach out here at the market.
Many who shop here are very much open to
a friendly shopping adventure.
Shopping at the Hillcrest Farmers' Market reaffirms what
I say all the time.
This is not Your Every day shopping experience!
See you next Sunday?

KEEP the BEET, sometimes given voice by
by Leslie Goldman, Your Enchanted Gardener, who
speaks the international language of beet,
the new Esperanto of our times,
will present a thank you to Monsanto for its projected wise decision
to 100 % support local organic farmers.
Keep the beet's message is that through growing a simple
beet in a pot we can regain our beat with nature and counterbalance
the prevalent disease of our age, fragmentation.
For more on Fragmentation, please read chapter
five of THE WHEEL OF HEALTH (1938) by G.T. WRENCH.
One version is available free online.
The beet, KT Beet MS sez,
"Plant beet seeds. reenforce your dream with a beet you
get from a local, organic farmer whenever possible."
In San Diego, get your beets from the Beet Keeper beet
growers, BARRY LOGAN of LA MILPA ORGANICA FARM;
PHIL NOBLE of SAGE MT FARM and
JOE RODRIGUEZ JR & FAMILY of JR ORGANIC.
We are Seed Dreaming about a BEET KEEPER combination
CSA box box that will express the concept of coop farming
that we preach and practice.
SAMMY AND BEE
OF THE RODRIGUEZ
GROWING UP ON THE FARM
FIFTH GENERATION FARMING COUSINS
This is a video clip I made at the HILLCREST FARMERS' MARKET of BEA RODRIGUEZ and her Cousin SAMMY, the daughter of SYLVIA RODRIGUEZ. I have been watching both this offspring of the RODRIGUEZ family grow up. It adds so much to my life to feel a part of this family and help in every way I can on most Sundays when I am in town. If you live in San Diego, please come by to the market. It is a wonderful experience. We can do some commerce over purple beans, but something much deeper we will exchange. Please support your local organic farmer. Feel the love of those growing real food. Help every way you can. Join a local CSA--Community Supported Agriculture. Our future of Food Safety depends on this.
I have been admiring the products of Terra Bella Ranch at our Hillcrest Farmers' Market for weeks I enjoy their certified Organic Nuts. I also had in mind yesterday to get show a draft of the Playbook I will be taking to the Natural Product Expo West this week. That all added up to making this Youtube for Nicolina Alves. Hope you like this! I love their Certified Nuts--Organically grown that is!
I just met Tina Koenemann
from Westbridge.
She tells me her company is often just called
Westbridge. Westbridge is short
for Westbridge Agricultural Products.
Her company manufactures Organic Liquid
Plant Nutrients, surfactants.
Tina is a cosponsor of the Dialogue on
Science, Ethics, and Food. She is also co-sponsoring
the Hamilton High Enchanted Garden Project, my own
contribution to the Hamilton High School garden now
in progress.
