The Organic Farming Research Foundation
set the powerful healing tone for a fabulous four-day meeting of the Natural Product Expo West, March 11-March 14. A room full of Real Food Eaters,
New and old friends, gathered for the opening day luncheon.
In a time of down economy, this tribe knows no better
than cheerlead for each other in ways that tug
at my heart strings. Most of all, its the smiles
that get to me.
Bob Scowcroft, OFRF, put a couple farmers
on stage for this spirit rally that showed
the generosity of its converts. A good amount
of funds were raised. The photos show some
of the underwriters. One speaker was Sue Baird,
of MO, an advocate, who described some woes
with some other allies I have been making of late
in St. Louis.

Sorry. Cut my veins.
I bleed Natural Product Expo West.
There are people I see just once a year here.
We dream together more often as we sleep.
Jo Dickson of New Hope has a five year old
now. She brings him to the show.
Dave Gagnon of the OTA; Margaret Wittenberg,
WFM, who sees on a regular basis my original Avocado sandwich maker from 1969, Michael Besancon, former Whole Foods Market So Pacific head--all these and more are
enough to get me out of bed blogging.
after only four hours sleep.

A room filled with organic industry elders and
spokespersons celebrated a delicious meal of 100% organic
faire prepared in the Anaheim Convention kitchen
by visiting organic chefs. I was able to corral a
bunch of them but missed out and getting an image
of Donna Prizgintas, who has been the coordinating
chef for the OFRF since 1998.
When the organic industry feasts together
like this, the spirit of goodwill and hopefulness
are everywhere evident. Brownie points get made.
Take for example the case of Jim Tripp,
who works the Anaheim Convention Center for
Aramark, one of the largest food service providers
in the nation.
Jim and his own team of fabulous resident chefs
starting cozying with with Organic Trade Association and OFRF Chefs years ago. Yesterday, they were one of the sponsors of the luncheon, donating the use of the kitchen.
Jim was at one of the tables with Anaheim Civic
leaders. The Anaheim Convention Center,
a Venue for a professional basketball team,
features organic foods on its menu on a regular basis.
Back in the Olden Days, when OTA would
get us together for an opening night party,
I brought boxes of fresh picked that morning
strawberries that fumed up the place.
They were grown by JR Organic's
Joe Rodriguez, who has been feeding my bones
for more than 15 years.
In Southern California, going green
and going organic go hand in hand.
When the Natural Products Expo
West community comes a visiting,
the lasting impact goes beyond the
four day show.
This industry's success is a no brainer.
All they have to do is feed people.
The comparison is obvious even for aregular morning
donut eater, who then has to follow up
with an obesity pill.
Yesterday's lunch was indicative
of what I am talking about.
Hugs and Kisses, dear chefs, the food was
to die for, or moreso, to live for.
Much more to say!

TO ME.
I heard Robert speak down at the
American Association for the Advancement of Science
(AAAS) 176th Annual Meeting in San Diego
February 18-22, 2010. I handed Robert
the Monsanto Company handout that
was on the chairs where I sat, February
February 21, 2010. I told Robert that
I could lessen the tension between GMO and
Organic Lovers. He said he liked where I was
coming from. He wrote me a note that said,
"Let's close the gap." I have a vision
that one day I will be talking about Organic
Food from the stage at BIO, the Biotechnology
Industry Organization, annual meeting.
I have already been press at BIO. There
are many, many beautiful people in the
Biotech industry.
There was a time in my life when I was
totally crippled and could not walk.
I owe my life to Integrative Medicine,
both top surgeons as well doctors of the soil.
Receiving hip revisions in 2001, I went from
Morphine to Boiron's Arnica Montana as my
pain relief. I was trained by Dr. Bernard Jensen,
an elder in the natural healing arts. I am
one of the last Essene Ministers ordained
by Edmond Bordeaux Szekely, co-founder
of Rancho La Puerta, my favorite destination
Spa.

ANTHONY ZOLEZZI is one of the main inspirations behind
GREENOPS, a new Recycling Redemption project
that launches on Earth Day. GrEENOPOLIS is the
Social Network site. I am sure there are going
to be companies using plastic blottles for years.
This is a great project to make sure that those
producing drinks and other products in plastic
begin responsible for a program that sees
the bottles they sell are returned to the store
that sells it.
