Is acupuncture a science, I just asked Dr. Greg Spurber,
BMBS, DAOM. He is DIrector of Clinical Services at the
Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. If you are feeling
in need of some balancing, you may want to catch a cab
and come out to Mission Valley for a treatment while
in town. That made common sense to me this morning,
although I am not sure my decision was scientifically-based.

LESLIE GOLDMAN,
YOUR ENCHANTED GARDENER
from the PRESS ROOM
at the AAAS ANNUAL MEETING

Leslie Goldman, here, Your Enchanted Gardener.
I just finished an acupuncture session with the doctor
student candidates at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine.
Warren Sheir and Frank Shuster from Chicago were on the shift.
I did not see the M.D. who was part of the team.
I did not sleep but a couple hours last night.
I was blogging on the AAAS meeting last night.
Take a look.
I interviewed Dr. Greg Sperber on the way out.
I am writing now from the PCOM library.
Pardon my rotation of this video.
I do not know how to use this version of Imovie.
I will rotate it at home before long.
I asked Greg if acupuncture was a science.
He said it was scientific, but not necessary what he would call
a science.
There is a ton of research going on about acupuncture
which has existed before the time that Hippocrates,
the father of medicine, ever imagined there would be
M.D.'s in the world that are not science trained.
I am loving this AAAS Annual Meeting.
I plan to buy some food at the nearby Ocean Beach People's
Food Coop and then get back down to the Sessions.
I may take a nap first.
I am surprised how balanced I feel, even with only
three hours of sleep last night. My head is tired.
I will take one of my "wonder drugs", called StayActiv.
It is a natural anti-inflammatory that is based on
homeopathic principles to get through the FDA regs.
It has a lot of other ingredients that are lab made.
I love being a Science Journalist here on the Plant Your Dream Blog.
There are so many sciences to look at these days,
including all the dimentions of our own mind.
I guess we can call that Mind Science.
That may be a Science, but I do not know if it is scientific.
I am glad to be bringing some fresh perspectives to my
new allies down at AAAS. This is the most presdigious
Science org in the country. There are more than 8000
people expected here from 80 countries.
PROVE IT! Is ORGANIC FOOD ANY BETTER FOR HEALTH
THAN CONVENTIONAL GROWN FOOD?
The trend at the AAAS appears to lean toward
GMO's over Organic. How either really been tested
by science? Is Risk Assessment enough to say
GMO's are O.K? http://curezone.com/blogs/fm.asp?i=1575969
