Sickness unto death!
We all want to have an identity... The question is who are we and how do we get our identity? Some people think that the society gives it to you, others think; it is inherited or deserved! None of these are true!

"There comes a point where all humans will seek to find the true meaning of their life; here on planet Earth!" A True-ism
In this life's search we find that the real element of desire is to explain SIN!
In the book "The Sickness Unto Depth" written in 1848 by the famous Danish philosopher Soren Kierkegaad; said " We find a definition of Sin, while rooted in the Bible is also accessible to the contemporary people of today! "
He wrote " Sin is: in despair not wanting to be oneself before God... Faith is: that the self in being itself and wanting to be grounded transparently in God."
Therefore Sin is the despairing refusal to find your deepest identity in your relationship and service to God!
Sin is seeking to become oneself, to get an identity, apart from God!
What exactly does this mean?
Everyone gets their identity, or their sense of being distinct and valuable, from somewhere or from someone!
Human beings are made not only to believe in God in some general way, but to love Him supremely; thus to center their entire lives upon Him above everything else, which then builds their very identities upon God... Any thing else is Sin!!
Many people think sin is only the " breaking of divine rules! "
Well perhaps the main consideration would be the very first (1st) of the Ten Commandments;
" To not have any other gods before me!"
So it is not just doing bad things that saparates you from God; rather it is not making Good Things into ultimate things!
Thus Sin is:
Making something else more central to your significance, purpose, and happiness than your relationship with God!
This is prehaps one of the most misunderstood elements as to the main reason that many people will not be in Heaven!
