Spent time with MIKE GRIM
City Planner, the City of Carlsbad
at the BRIGHT GREEN FUTURE CONFERENCE
October 23-24 2009 in San Diego.
This map of the nature preserves
in the City of Carlsbad is inspiring.

I had a dream last night that got me out of bed.
It had to do with a map that identified the
farming land in San Diego Country as it exists
now, and also as it would exist
in San Diego County's Bright Green Future.
I attended a number of workshops where
I saw maps of the future of the city from
a projection of Climate Change.
There were maps for 2030 and maps for 2050.
I could not help but think
I will be dead by 2050, who knows
maybe reborn.
In the year of 2030, I would be
82 years old. I would be 102 in 2050.
I am not sure I want to live in this body
that long. I might be ready for a trade in.
Some of the young people I am working with now
would be a reasonable age in 2050.
