Dangerous Moments!
We all have been in or on the edge of some form of danger! The question is what to do or how are you going to act?

First "Read the room!" that means pay special attention to your circumstances; most people who are injured or hurt, or killed were not really paying attention to what was happening around them...
It takes you full attention or as close as you can get to notice the circumstances around you at any given moment! So many people especially today with the Ipod, cell fons, Walkman or other distractions; have gotten into dangerous situations simply because they were not paying close attention... HUH!
Next your best chance of escaping or evading the danger wither it be a person, place or thing is to learn to react quickly! Most people who are accosted or captured have their best opportunity to escape within the very first minutes... The longer someone has to contain, or place you in some confining position, the less likely you have to escape... This is not always 100% possible, but it sure bets the odds on the other end! Scream, hit, run, push, and fight will go a long way toward preventing rape, robbery, or assault by others...
Prevention is the next best method of avoiding danger and harm... i.e. if a situation appears doubtful or dangerous, simply do not go there or participate... This has served me well over the years, because there is no excuse for going into a "hot" or dangerous situation, if you can help it!
*** For an example as Life Guard training taught; the last thing you want to do; is go in the water after a drowning person... Many people have done so and lost... Try any thing else first!
*** Though you may carry a firearm, you do not just start shooting at any noise... You should "know your target" and access the threat level before any weapon is pulled; then most of the time you will most likely not have to use it, once your opponent sees you mean business, and will defend yourself! HUH! Unlike the Movies / TV Igmos who have never ending ammo and non jamming guns... Defense is serious business!
"Life is more than just keeping yourself entertained or content, or happy!" a True-ism

How to Recognize Imminent Danger: 7 Essential Safety Rules

Most people are good, but there are some who are not. They are dangerous and hunt for victims. The good news is that you can keep yourself safe by following seven simple safety rules.
1. Be alert
Pay attention to what is around you. Keeping yourself safe is a matter of paying attention to possible danger and avoiding it.
2. Use your senses
Centuries ago, human senses were essential survival tools. Smell could signal the approach of a dangerous animal, or lead to a food source. Hearing could alert you to a predator creeping up, ready to attack. Taste could discern poisonous food. Never listen to music while walking -- stay alert to your surroundings.
3. Notice anomalies
Predators often behave in odd ways. Look for odd behavior such as a couple or small group coming towards you whose attention is on you, and not on each other, or people lurking or loitering without visible reason. The best way to stay safe is to spot oncoming danger and avoid or evade it.
4. Avoid angry scenes and ugly crowds
If you are at a club or a party and aggravation builds, leave the place immediately. If you are in a large crowd and the mood turns ugly, quickly move to the edge of the crowd and leave the area.
5. Keep together
Lions hunting in the wild never attack the leaders of a herd. They attack the stragglers. Human predators follow the same strategy; they target people who are on their own.
6. Look big and show confidence
If you are feeling threatened, walk fast and confidently. If you are lost in a foreign city, never stop and study a map under a street lamp -- it marks you as a possible victim. Always appear in charge of your actions.
7. Treat people well
If you are aggressive or nasty to others, they may respond with aggression or even violence towards you. Your best defense against danger is to be a friendly and helpful person.
