Pre thoughts: Building up the nerve and the incentive.
My brain is already telling me to stop the nonsence and stay where I am at. Well, I refuse. I plan on starting my water fast within the next couple weeks.

I think it's time for some long term detoxing. A fast. It sounds so ominous but I know my body is crying out "HELP!"
Since a kid I have been really overweight. I'm 5'4" and I weigh 265lbs. I have a large frame, so I'm not out to be a size 6 and gorgeous. How about 16? I am still in secret denial that I am an 18... I'm a 22.
It's not the only reason for fasting. Nope. I've got a great many things that I am prepairing for in life (College, moving out of the house, and all that goes with it) and I need stability. I think a water fast is pretty freekin disciplined.
I've got things I always wanna do but never focus on. So I am gonna try this. With the support of a couple friends I should pull through. One friend fasts on occation for religious reasons and the other dosent fast, but will support me. I know that a great many who do this do with no support, so kudos to them. I don't think I could do it.
My brain is already telling me to stop the nonsence and stay where I am at. Well, I refuse. I plan on starting my water fast within the next couple weeks. I wanna start now, but I know I need to ease off food for the next few days. I hope to get my friend to do the first three days with me.
My biggest concern is my family. I am 20, and living with parents. They would not understand fasting and even diets around here are pretty freeky words. I hope to keep myself distracted from them and the food they bring home. I remember one time I tried fasting and they brought home Pizza and breadsticks. The smell broke me.
Well this time I'll keep myself distracted. I've had a room I've needed to clean for many years and I've never really done it. I've got 52 albums I still need to listen to, i've got a month of half off DVD rentals from the local shop, and I've got a bit of cash I'll be saving from the dinners and meals I wont be eating.
I definately need willpower on this one. I keep reading journals that say "20 day fast" and they end on day three... Yikes.. I did a three day juice a few months ago. It was really nice and the only reason I broke it was cause a friend bought dinner lol. I did find myself chewing on a piece of beef jerky just for the flavor, then spitting it out.. but that was my only pitfall. Chewing gum will be a pain for the next while though. I am a gum chewer, but I heard on fasts it's bad to chew gum cause it starts your digestion up.
I want to do a strict water fast, but I might do the master clense for the first couple days, just so I have something in my system. I don't want to totaly shock my body. Who knows though. I might not do the full master clense because I have no sea salt and I can't afford maple syrup. Another reason the water fast apeals to me. I don't have to spend insane amounts of money on juice! Maybe the first three days I'll do Juice. That's do-able.
I guess that's all for now. I will be reasearching even more into this just so I take the best precautions. I'm honestly thinking Monday or Tuesday starting. I'll see what day my friend would do it with me. That way I've got a hand through the process.
I've got a goal to make it through the whole fast.. but I will allow myself markers to hit where I can get off if I choose. 10, 14, or 21 days, after that I gotta go til I am hungry again.
Lets see how far we can get. Thank goodness theres this site for support.
Any tips to get me well off before I do this (other then research my butt off and not gorge the night before?)
