One of the highlights
of the Natural Product Expo West for me
is visiting dear friends from the Frey Winery.
This is the oldest organic winery in the US.
I first met Tamara Frey
and Jonathan at Tres Estrellas,
the food growing ranch at Rancho La Puerta
back in 1992.
They created the kitchen garden.
I would come down and take photos of the farm
and stay with them in their house.
In later years I visited the Frey Vineyard
in Redwood Valley. I got to know other members of the family.
Katrina Frey, who married in the family is the wife of eldest brother Jonathan.
Katrina was instrumental in Mendocino County passing the first
law in the country that outlawed GE foods.
I will be paying a visit to the Frey booth next month
at the Natural Product Expo West.
Last night, at Nicole Nash's Birthday down at Dizzy's
Jutta and I were expressing some plans for her upcoming
birthday next Saturday.
We were talking about going vegetarian, and having the event
be health conscious. I was imagining that we would feature
Michael Huffman's 75,000 million year old SynerG Fulvic and Humic
Acid health supplement as the main beverage to toast Jutta.
Ron said he was going to bring a bottle of wine.
Wine? O.K. Ron, I will bring you a bottle of organic wine
from "my Winery!" The Freys, I told him.
I called Ron today from Whole Foods Market Hillcrest.
I was looking for the Frey Biodynamic wine.
They had a lot of different kinds, but they did not stock
the Biodynamic. I talked to the Wine Specialist about getting me
some.
I called Ron on my cell.
"Down here at Whole Foods Market.
What kind to you like?"
He said, "Cabernet."
It's seems to be one of the more expensive of the Frey Wines.
Ron goes for the best.
As long as he is going to be drinking wine at Jutta's party,
I wanted to bring him wine from my favorite wine growing family.
