Dead Sea Scrolls--who owns them?
Who owns the Dead Sea Scrolls?
Who owns the Holy Scripttures?
These questions are in my mind
this early morning after doing
a Closing Ceremony on the grounds
of Balboa Park outside the San Diego
Natural History Museum.
I wanted to acknowledge in a spiritual
manner that ending of this exhibit.
The museum itself had no other
official Closing Ceremony.

Who owns the Dead Sea Scrolls?
Who owns Qumran?
Who owns the Holy Books of the Bible?
These questions are in my mind today
after doing a Closing Ceremony last night
after hours at the San Diego Natural History Museum.
I was in the Presence of a Tree of Life,
an enormous tree that sits within a fence to the North of
the Museum.
I was in the Presence of a Stand of one of my favorite
herbs, peppermint geranium from South Africa,
the same plant that grows here at the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community
in San Diego.
I discovered the stand yesterday in route to the museum.
It was between the EG Mobile and the museum, right of the
sidewalk.
I imagine they may have some law here in Balboa Park
that says do not pick the plants.
I may be guilty of breaking the a law
but not the Law.
I picked two leaves of that plant.
One I wanted to carry to Dr. Pam Fox Kuhlken, my new friend
and the Co-author of HOLY SCROLLS, the Origins of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
She was signing the "Graphic Novela" at the museum.
Graphic Novela is what the Industry now calls a Comic Book.
She was weary and tired and stressed.
I picked the plant to give her respite.
The plant allowed me to pick this leave.
I cannot say about the Keepers of the Plant.
