Day 1
A Fantastic Start!
Date: 12/27/2007 7:34:25 PM ( 17 y ) ... viewed 2678 times Day 1 of my juice fast went very well. It was very similar to my other one day juice fasts. This morning I woke up and juiced an Apple Lemon juice. Usually I just drink my juice straight, but read that watering down fruit juice was better, so I watered it down halfway. It was really good. Throughout the day I drank a lot of water - almost 64 oz. I had to work 2-6 today - it just dragged and dragged! After, I went to the grocery store and my boyfriend, Todd bought me a ton of produce! I got 2 pineapples, apples, lemons, limes, cantaloupe, watermelon, oranges, grapefruits, kiwis, celery, and strawberries. At home I already have a bunch of carrots, spinach, broccoli, and cucumbers too. So now I am officially stocked up again! Tonight I juiced a delicious strawberry, pineapple, and kiwi juice w. a little bit of watermelon. It was great! I loved having all those new fruits to use! I am really partial to fruit juices, but I am going to try to do a lot of carrots too because that is the veggie that is the easiest for me to stand. I am going to try to incorporate the other veggies in my juices so that I can get the full benefit of all the different vegetables. I still have to buy tomatoes, beets, and some other veggies. (I hate beets, but thought the juice might be worth a try mixed with something!) My juice recipe book really comes in handy, but usually I just make up my own drinks. It makes a good guideline though. After my juice, I took a bath with bath salts. I have been buying different handmade bath salts like crazy because bath salts work wonders to detoxify the body. I want to aid my body in ridding the toxins in any way I can. It was very relaxing.
All in all today was great. I felt pretty good. I had no potty troubles. My body was a little bit achy and at times I was a tiny bit hungry, but overall it was nothing. The hunger was quickly satiated by the juice, as if I had eaten something. The aches in my knees and body went away after I soaked in the tub.
I am excited to weigh in tomorrow. My starting weight is 190. I was 186, but gained a few pounds over the holidays (may or may not be water weight - we will see within the next few days!). I am hoping that the 4 lbs i gained over the holidays will melt off quickly. I cannot wait to begin day 2 tomorrow!!
