Day 8 (Work)

Salt Water Flush - 8 BMs
6 Glasses Lemon/Maple Syrup & Molasses/Cayenne
Symptoms: Strong liver twinging today, nasal discharge, lightly coated white tongue, which became heavily coated during the day, some mucus in throat all day, redness around both nostrils and pimple are disappearing, travelling flesh-coloured itchy moles on neck and bump on back of neck are very itchy, weakness, bad breath. My mood seems to have stabilized; I'm distant and unconcerned about everyone around me and prefer to be left alone, but the bad mood is gone.
Tea: Peppermint tea in the morning.
Detox Methods: 9 glasses water, magnesium oxide 1,500 mg at night, walking 7,395 steps.

Weight: 53.1 kg, 27.5% BF

Comments:
The detox foot pads seem to have been doing a fantastic job of removing toxins. This is the first 24-hour period without them, and the light coating on my tongue has become thick; I can no longer scrape it off with a wet toothbrush.
My mood has definitely stabilized (thank you, body!) and I began taking a weak interest in events at work, only to discover that I had mildly alienated my friends. They realize that I'm on a strict diet for health reasons, but they are very much into the SAD and see my efforts as traitorous at best. Hm!
I continue to enjoy the smell of food but don't want to actually eat it anymore, except for isolated moments in the day. Hunger always responds to the lemon drink.

Day 9 (Work)

Salt Water Flush - 9 BMs
6 Glasses Lemon/Molasses/Cayenne
Symptoms: The bumps on my neck (including the one at the back, which felt more like a cyst) are all gone. Strong liver twinging today, nasal discharge, thickly coated white tongue, some mucus in throat all day and draining from the nose, bad breath at times, the redness around nostrils and pimple is disappearing, travelling flesh-coloured itchy moles on neck and bump on back of neck are very itchy, weakness especially in the legs, bad breath. Mild headache. Dry skin on chin and hands. I seem to need more sleep than usual. My mood has stabilized; I'm distant and unconcerned about everyone around me but don't mind speaking with people now.
Tea: Peppermint tea in the morning.
Detox Methods: 10 glasses water, magnesium oxide 1,500 mg at night, walking 8,516 steps.

Weight: 53.0 kg, 27.0% BF

Comments:
Due to a crisis at work, it was very important to join a friend for late dinner. I managed to sit with him while he consumed a falfalel and beer and I just sipped my water. I wish I had made more lemon drink, because I was up quite late. It was the smell, more than the sight of food, which distracted me. My sense of smell seems to be acute right now.
I really miss the detox foot pads. They seemed to be keeping the white toxins/growth on my tongue down to managable levels. I find with this thick stuff, it won't move from it's spot; it cannot be scraped off, no matter how much I brush. Considering that this stuff is probably plastered all over my digestive system, at least as far as the stomach, it's a bad sign. So many toxins despite all the cleansings I've done over the past 18 months! So, I take this to be another yardstick of toxin removal, like the weight loss. I am now tempted to continue until the white is all gone - but I'm never tempted to continue at lunch hour!
I don't know about anyone else, but the only time I seriously think about getting something to eat (bad, of course) and ending this fast early, is at lunch. That is when my friends are off to lunch themselves, and it reminds me of what I am missing.

Day 10 (Work)

Salt Water Flush - 8 BMs
5 Glasses Lemon/Maple Syrup & Molasses/Cayenne
Symptoms: Liver twinging in the evening, nasal discharge, thickly coated white tongue, which seems to be spreading to the inside of my mouth, some mucus in throat all day, redness around nostrils is gone, travelling flesh-coloured itchy moles on neck and bump on back of neck are disappearing, moments of dizziness, bumps and dry skin have appeared on my chin, exhaustion, mild soreness and weakness in the legs, bad breath, and a general sensitivity to cold. I felt quiet today but mildly upbeat.
Tea: Peppermint tea in the morning.
Detox Methods: 8 glasses water, walking 14,810 steps. About 4,000 steps were from walking home last night after midnight; the pedometer keeps tack in 24-hour days for 7 days.

Weight: 52.8 kg, 26.8% BF

Comments:
The molasses seemed to help with electrolyte problems (dizziness, confusion and the tendency towards leg cramps) but seemed to give me diarrhea while I did not lose an appreciable amount of weight. While weight loss is not my primary goal, it is a measurement of that goal, so I felt it was best to return to maple syrup.
I noticed very dry skin on my chin, along with what seemed to be a patch of tiny, colourless bumps. I also noticed that my hands were shaking, which indicates lack of oils. I massaged my hands and face with coconut oil. This is also a departure from the MC, but my body seemed to need it.
The redness and rash around the nostrils, and travelling tiny itchy bumps on my neck, are all symptoms I've had for months at a time while Liver Flushing. It was interesting to see these old symptoms again.

Day 11 (Work)

Salt Water Flush - 5 BMs
6 Glasses Lemon/Maple Syrup/Cayenne
Symptoms: Itchy around left nostril. Dry throat, hands and chin. I felt cold all day at work. Some nasal discharge, very thickly coated white tongue, which has spread to the inside of my mouth, some mucus in throat in the afternoon, dizziness is gone, bumps and dry skin have responded to coconut oil but reappeared on my chin, passing tiredness but occasional bursts of energy, a little weakness in the legs, and breath might be improving. I felt quiet today but mildly upbeat.
Tea: Peppermint tea in the morning.
Detox Methods: 10 glasses water, walked 9,651 steps, dry skin brushing, detox bath, detox foot pads.

Weight: 52.8 kg, 27.5% BF

Comments:
Relatively uneventful day. My mood has definitely improved, and my strength and clearness of mind also seem to be returning. I don't feel strong yet, but I feel I can walk a long distance without cramps, as long as I don't walk up hills or stairs. I'm hoping the extra detoxing tonight will help disperse the thick coating on my tongue a little.

Day 12 (Weekend)

Salt Water Flush - 6 BMs
6 Glasses Lemon/Maple Syrup & Molasses/Cayenne
Symptoms: Nasal discharge, thickly coated white tongue, the bump on back of my neck is gone, as are most of the little bumps around my neck, no dizziness, bumps and dry skin are still present on my chin, exhaustion, occasional kidney pain, mild soreness and weakness in the legs, mildly bad breath. I felt quiet today but mildly upbeat.
Tea: Banaba tea (kidneys) Eupatorium odoratum (lungs).
Detox Methods: Magnesium oxide 1,500 mg, 8 glasses water, detox bath, detox foot pads, 7,342 steps.

Weight: 52.4 kg, 26.5% BF

Comments:
I noticed that when I used the detox foot pads, the coating on my tongue was thin and loose enough to scrape off with a wet toothbrush. I'm hoping the same happens tomorrow, as the coating is so thick and sticky that I can't scrape it off right now, and it is coating the roof of my mouth, too. I noticed that using a variety of detoxing methods was even more helpful. On the good side, a lot of my previous symptoms seem to be fading: The tiny bumps and the one big cyst-like bump on my neck are gone, the rash has faded from my nostrils (both symptoms I experienced for months during Liver Flushing, gone in only days this time), my mood is improving, I'm not dizzy anymore, and I don't walk like a drunk person! In fact, I felt quite energetic in the evening, and my 90 minute walk home was quick! I'm beginning to feel more like myself.

Day 13 (Weekend)

Salt Water Flush - 7 BMs
6 Glasses Lemon/Maple Syrup & Molasses/Cayenne
Symptoms: Thinly coated white tongue. I've discovered the dry skin was from using soap, so I changed to a different brand and the dryness did not reappear. I felt strong kidney pain in the evening and very white face, but that disappeared after drinking a few cups of Banaba tea. My legs were not sore today. I had mildly bad breath but no stinky sweat. I felt energetic and positive today, more like my usual self.
Tea: Banaba tea (kidneys), Eupatorium odoratum (lungs).
Detox Methods: Magnesium oxide 1,500 mg, 8 glasses water, dry skin brushing, detox foot pads, 1,560 steps (I had company so couldn't go for a walk.)

Weight: 52.5 kg, 26.8% BF.

Comments:
The last 2 night's strong detoxing worked really well to reduce the white coating on my tongue, and might have been responsible for my relative lack of toxin symptoms today. The only strong toxin effect I saw was due to kidneys. I'm guessing that if low fat results in the formation of stones in the liver, then the kidneys have to work harder to remove toxins, and thus the pain and white face. I was relieved to find that both symptoms vanished after several cups of Banaba tea.

Some thoughts on weight loss:
I've noticed that my weight loss has slowed down, and looked through other blogs to see if the same thing happened to others. It has. My main concern here is that fat cells contain toxins, and if the fat cells are not being used up, then the toxins are not being released. I get the feeling that this is partly due to the metabolism going into starvation mode, and partly because the body's energy is going into rebuilding at this time, rather than pure weight loss. So, it is possible that fat was still being used (although at a slower rate) but tissues are being rebuilt elsewhere in the body. I've noticed plateaus like this while going through weight loss adjustments (not diets, but changes in diet and exercise which are maintained until a goal has been reached, and then only a small return to former habits - my weight loss tends to last for years) and at that time I think protein or bone mass is being built at the same rate that fat is being lost. Perhaps something like that is happening now in the body, during this slow period of weight loss. It could be bone, muscle and organ regeneration which is balancing fat loss at this time. I've also noticed a pattern: Rapid weight loss for the first 7 days, then almost no weight loss for the next 7 days, then rapid weight loss again for the next 7 days.
With those ideas in mind, I'm really tempted to go beyond 14 days and see if this pattern is correct, in my case. I associate fat with stored toxins, and removing toxins is my main goal.

If readers have any comments here, I'd appreciate reading them!
