Harpo's eagle eye was upon me. . .
This happened one day back in 1980 as I recall.
It was a hot summer day in San Diego. My friend Robin, Harpo and I all headed for the beach in La Jolla. As soon as we arrived, we threw down our towels and ran to the water. Harpo loved to laugh. . .we laughed all the time!
This one adds color and detail to our collection of Harpo stories.
When I met Harpo, he was living in Sue’s apartment. She was sailing on a boat down in Baja. He used to tell me that whenever Sue came home, he would be on the backburner because Sue and I would have so much in common we would ignore him! ”Oh, you’ll love Sue!”, he would say. I was a little timid about meeting her at first. . .but soon his prophecy came true. Sue and I became friends right away and have been best friends ever since...

I was living in Alpine, Ca. in 1991. I was living and working for Doc, the chiropractor, who was my second spiritual father. Doc is a story in itself. Harpo and Doc used to talk on the phone together. Harpo knew he didn’t have to worry about me, because I had Doc at the helm. . . they had a mutual understanding about their love for me.

HONEY, haven't you heard????
I finally reached Harpo after several days of finding no one at home. . . I was beginning to worry about him, as I always do. Seems I always subconsciously fear that one day he won’t be there.
So when I heard his voice, my heart sprung for JOY!
”Merry Christmas!” he said in the unmistakeable Harpo voice. . .
I said, ”I’m so glad you answered the phone! Where WERE you??????”
He said: ”HONEY! Haven’t you HEARD?
I said: NO! Heard what???”

in his store down in Mission Beach. I was with Paul and Carla, we stopped
in, drank some pomegranite juice and ended up playing some music. Harpo
danced. He told us that he used to be a professional dancer. I only saw him
a couple of times but he was unique enough for me to remember - and coming
from a time and place when we were usually blasted out of our minds, that’s

Peace comes from knowing God and being filled with the Holy Spirit.

To live in authentic love is to be in that place which is worthy of an angel. In your heart will be the riches of the highest value to any human being. It was May, 1980, San Diego. I was lost, totally lost from my truth, devastated emotionally from divorce and separation from my children. My life was meaningless and there was nothing I could do to reverse the outcome. I put my life into God’s hands one day. I said ”God, you lead me to the next step. . .I myself know nothing.”

There was something unmistakable about Harpo's voice. . .
For all of us who really know Harpo. . . well, we share something of tremendous value in common. Yes, we are left with memories of a voice that we will never quite hear the likes of again in this lifetime. . .no one could mistake that voice. . .it called out to you like an old friend of long ago. . .no voice is the same as Harpo’s. There was something special about the way he said the word ”heart”. . .he made it sound as though it had three syllables and it kinda entered into your own heart and made it beat better than before. . .you know Harpo?
