But we must ask ourselves how good joy would feel if we had no adversity to contrast it? Happiness is earned; it’s a reward we give to ourselves. The phrase, “nobody said life was easy,” was coined with good reason. The truth is, life is hard work. Life constantly challenges us to learn and grow. But as we rise to those challenges we become stronger, wiser and better human beings. The universe holds all the answers we will ever need.
