Sounds like you're going through some major stuff here.
If you're undertaking a stopping drinking effort, make sure you're doing it for you, not just for him. And try to get in touch with an independent third party for support and advice, (clergy, psychologist, AA, something) don't just let one person drive your efforts, it's not a balanced approach and it could affect your relationship negatively.
