I saw on TV yesterday that Howard Stern's sidekick Robin lost 70 pounds on the Master Cleanse.
So ..... if she can do it, you can do it! (And me, too!)
If I "fall off the wagon" on my journey, I just get right back on at the very next moment of "consciousness". This change in behavior has kept me going for the long haul, which is what is necessary in my case.
So I don't expect perfection in my habits, but I do expect myself to keep on keepin' on, always keep striving for the goal, and to create an environment (beautiful surroundings, neat and orderly, the right food in my fridge, etc.) to support my success.
If I want anything else besides what is on my program, it is not in the house, so this means I have to get out to get it. This stops the vast majority of cravings. I have learned to love the feeling of a rumbling in my tummy at night, which is getting a teeny bit flatter every day. When I get that tummy rumble, I reach for my gallon of distilled water, which I keep in every room of the house, and just keep flushing out the fat with mega water drinking. Drinking a lot of water really helps with cravings. Most of my cravings are emotional or habits. I've been a late-night eater my whole life, so re-training myself to drink water instead has been a major accomplishment. It is important to me to also take a second and check in with myself about what am I feeling right when the craving hits me. Chances are, it is a wave of loneliness, isolation, frustration, overwhelm, etc. And ---- I've come to realize --- that EATING doesn't FIX any of those things, but rather just induces a food-coma that makes me feel a lot worse the next day. I've not mastered this yet, but it is definitely getting a lot better when I drink drink drink water. Yeah, a lot of bathroom trips at night, but that is OK. Also, cleaning out my closet, getting rid of fat clothes I loathe and hanging up the cute skinny clothes on display to inspire me is working. Today I fit into shorts that used to be tight.
Congratulations to your commitment to loving yourself and changing your life! You can do it! The important thing is to not get discouraged from any temporary set-backs and give up.
This way, you will SURELY make significant progress, even if it is not overnight. You go, girl! Love yourself, fiercely and determinedly! When we do, we are no longer victims, and what other people do can no longer influence our behavior, such as make us overeat. LOVE YOURSELF is the key to transformation, IMHO.
