    INDUSTRIAL POLLUTIONCORPORATE AMERICA

The problem with Live Earth is that it simply doesn't practice what it preaches. Celebrities lead extravagant lifestyles. I saw on the tv the other day a celeb paying $75,000 for a wedding dress and her flowers cost $100,000. Most humans will not put any stock in a message that comes from people who are not doing as they say to do. You hear the message to change all your light bulbs and turn off your air conditioner, etc.... This is preached to the little people, the common folk like you and me. Well, I guarantee that global warming would not have come about from light bulbs and air conditioners.

The problem is capitalism, which is based on greed. It cannot help it, it's just inherent in the structure of it. If a company wants to succeed, it has to constantly outsell it's competitor. This eventually leads to monopolies because there is no other way to do it, unless the companies simply want to dissolve after they have many many millions, and they don't. Some say Capitalism is great, yeah, well, it would be nice if we were able to use it as a way of making a good living. But, there is just is no room for everyone to do that well. It creates a vast disparity in wealth, creating a rich and poor society and slowly dissolving the middle class. What is the biggest contributor to global warming? Big corporations. Cars are a huge factor and the military, which wastes a great deal of unnecessary resources. If a person went around the globe and studied emissions from factories, they would see unbelievable amounts of pollution and waste. Most are hidden to the naked eye. Yes, they provide us with products, but the toll it takes on the earth is monumental and catastrophic. Have you ever walked into a Michaels store? It is full of junk that uses up the earth's resources, and there is tons of junk out there like that that we really do not need. And if anyone walks into a grocery store and looks for a box of cereal, they can see waste and greed written all over those 2 isles of endless boxes.

The biggest problem in our society is no accountability. Bureaucracy is the basis. You can see this simply by addressing the one issue: If you asked the big corporations why they produce so much stuff, they would say they are fulfilling a need, that we the public demand things and they are only supplying it. But, I say that a vast amount of products and services are a result of them creating the need, not us. And, what is wrong with the logic of the latter? Well, we have come full circle, it's back to the light bulbs and air conditioners. Now that the destruction of the earth is getting difficult to hide, the burden is being put on us, the little people. The masses make up the majority of the human population. Well, it must be our fault. We demanded products and services. They were created for us. Now, we are destroying the earth, so we must make personal sacrifices. Is the government (one of the biggest contributors to waste and extravagance) and Corporate America going to make the same sacrifices, or will they simply try to produce a product they can sell us that produces less damage to the environment on the consumer end, while they sit back like fat cats raking in the big bucks and continuing their lavish lifestyle? I think the latter.

In conclusion, yes the celebrities have a voice because they are wealthy and popular, and that does get the message out to more people. But, are all the celebs who participated in Live Earth going to stop paying $100 or more for a meal at a restaurant? No. It's not a reality. The wealthy, the famous, and the government set the examples for us; And, to me, as a whole, they are nothing but enablers for the crisis state of the world. It still all comes down to the haves and the have-nots. And, the have-nots are the ones who will sacrifice the most for the gluttonous ways of the wealthy, big business and big government.

What Is The Solution? I don't know, not sure there is one that humans will all adapt to, rather than destroy the earth. Remember the golden Rule...The one who has the gold, makes the rules.

    IT'S GOOD TO BE KING
